Soap Star Cops a Plea

"General Hospital" star Kirsten Storms had her own daytime drama play out in an L.A. courtroom today as her attorney, on her behalf, pleaded no contest to drunk driving charges.

The judge sentenced Kirsten to three years probation and ordered her to attend 12 AA meetings. That must start immediately, and she must attend two meetings per week. Storms' license was also suspended for six months, she must pay a $1643 fine and complete a 90-day alcohol program.

If she fails to comply with these terms, she must serve 13 days in County Jail. Paging Paris Hilton!

Storms was arrested in September after a CHP officer noticed a lit cigarette being thrown from her blue Mercedes. She was pulled over and the officer noticed an odor of booze in the car. After failing field sobriety tests, the actress was booked on DUI charges.

Fly: Turn on the news. They don't want folks to throw butts out the window because huge portions of the state are on fire. If a fire prone area, being careless with fire should be illegal! What a dope. Perhaps if she hadn't been drunk, she'd have thought of that.

36. What is with all these dumb-ass actors and singers, they have enough money to simply call a damn livery service to pick them up at night then fetch the car in the morning. Fame and fortune seems to fall upon too many idiots who were at the right place at the right time to be discovered (oh ya and slept with the right people)

40. First: Take the 13 days in jail. Then it is done and over with. Who needs to waste 3 months of onces life on a cult like AA?

Second: Give up your drivers licence for good and show your fellow citizens that you have some respect of human lives.

42. First- She hasn't been on Days for like 3 or 4 years. She is on GH now.

Second- The punishment is actually the standard for 1st time DUI offenders. You may not like it, and I may not like it, but she didn't get off easy by any means. She got the standard sentence.

Third- People do make mistakes. I hate when people drive drunk but if she learns from it, I won't condemn her. I guarantee all of you people have either driven with alcohol in your system, or know someone who has. After all, it only takes 1-2 drinks to be considered over the legal limit.

I'm not defending her, but let's try and put things into perspective here. It's easy to judge when you're sitting behind a computer screen, but we all know that no one is perfect and everyone makes dumb mistakes. Yeah, hers could have killed someone but I will reserve my judgement until she does something stupid like this again.
