14. Come on people! Elaine was married to John Steinbeck.
Steinbeck's a Nobel Prize winning author, his work is on high school reading lists in the States and up here in Canada. (Of Mice and Men, Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden etc.) He's one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century!
He passed away in 68 and there was a bit of a scandal a few years ago, over Elaine's will. It must have been amazing to have her as a grandmother, some great stories at that dinner table.
