Willie's Fillies Need Your Help

Willie NelsonIn addition to being an outspoken activist for ... um, herbal remedies, country music icon Willie Nelson has another cause close to his heart: horses. Of course he does -- he's Willie freakin' Nelson!

Willie himself has personally rescued a number of horses, and he sits on the Board of Directors of a group called Habitat for Horses. On November 13 and 14, Willie and daughter Amy, Bo Derek and the luscious Barbi Twins -- are all going to Capitol Hill to voice their support for the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to slaughter horses!

The country outlaw even wrote a passionate letter to his fans to implore them to help. Click here to read it.

31. Good luck, Willie! Thank you for having the higher moral values and integrity to take a stand and defend our horses from slaughter, and export to slaughter. I'm disappointed as I read some of the comments posted here. Some people with lower morals, can't do anthing else except try to bash people who do have higher morals and are willing to fight to uphold them.
To those of you who are blaming the closure of the U.S. slaughter plants as the reason our horses are going to slaughter over our borders - you haven't done your research. Our horses have been exported over the borders for years, and this is not new. Instead of whining and passing out blame for the wrong reasons,
do something useful to help these horses. There's only one action that will prevent our horses from export to slaughter, and that's fighting to help pass the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. Willie is meeting with Congress today to do just that. Thank you, Willie! Bless you!!

Help is wanted to end horse slaughter.
Willie, you are a lucky man to have such a wonderful family, your wife, daughter and granddaughter are sweeties. I had the pleasure of having lunch with them on Tuesday and was just delighted with their warmth and sincerety.

I appreciate you and your family's continued support for the horses. Please take a look at the Nokota Horse Conservancy web site too. www.nokotahorse.org
