61. this reminds me of the basketball player that had a heart condition some ten years ago, I think he played for the celtics. He had a dream team of doctors telling him to stop playing or you will die. He found some other doctor to say he was fine. Three weeks later......dead. If a doctor says basically "I dont want to make money off you because you may die on me" like the first doctor did, believe him. and for the right price people will do anything. so dont be surprised she found a doctor willing to put her under the knife. For such a smart woman, this was totally retarded. I bet the doc that did do the operation covered his ass with a multitude of waivers stating he was not liable if she did die.

66. Terrible tragedy. It is a shame people resort to plastic surgery in the first place except for trauma. Let this be a lesson to all of you and learn to love yourself and others for who they are and not what you or others look like.

I agree with comment #55, you can find an unscrupulous doctor anywhere, look at micheal jackson for crying out loud !!!! The other day I was at the dr. office and this 70 year old was trying to keep her driver license, even though other drs had told her NO....however I don't think anyone deserves DEATH for an error in judgement as DR. WEST made, and that is sad, very , very sad.......

73. to #42 steven, must be nice to be so perfect. You obviously have never lost someone near and dear to your heart. Life is full of choices, some bad and some good, but we all make mistakes. Do you eat butter, meat, drink or smoke?? Do you take you dailey vitamins?? Do you drink water from a plastic bottle?? Do you eat vegetables that are free from pesticides?? I am so glad to have actually have found someone who is PERFECT!! Your doctor must tell the AMA about you...again my deepest sympathies to the family

75. Really sad- the son became so successful, Mom quit her professorship/chair of the English Dept. to be his manager. Finally, plenty of money- enough for whatever cosmetic surgery you'd want. Sadly ironic- that is what killed her. Cruel twist of fate.
