Paparazzo Seriously Injured in Spears Madness

UPDATE: Miraculously, the victim was released from the hospital last night with only a tire mark on his arm. Not a single broken bone, and no internal injuries. Lucky guy!

TMZ has confirmed a paparazzo on a motorcycle has been injured while chasing Britney Spears.

The accident, first reported by That Other Blog, happened around 5:00 PM tonight, roughly a mile from the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel. Several cars were in line chasing the pop princess when one hit another photog on a motorcycle, throwing the rider off the bike and onto the road. We're told the rider was seriously injured and transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His current condition is unknown.

UPDATE: We're told that the injured person is what is known as a "spotter," and does not actually carry a camera. He will follow the star and tip off other photographers to her whereabouts. We hear he's fairly new to the Britney beat, only appearing on the scene in the past several days.

64. #27 Irene---Try to keep up dear! People need to stop asking where is her mother, where is her father!! Everyone but Britney knows she's a "tragedy waiting to happen". That's not even in question. But she is a grown woman---26 years old in a couple of weeks--- with 2 children of her own. She is NOT a child, even though she acts like one. It has repeatedly been reported by everyone who's ever dealt with her like managers, lawyers, record company execs, the people at the recent award show that she ruined, etc., that she WILL NOT LISTEN to anyone! She has pushed away anyone who's ever tried to help her, including her folks, and yes, even KFed. That is why she has no friends or family or anyone else around her except scuzzy Sam. Unless she really goes off, no one can have her put in a hospital or force her into the therapy she needs, including her parents. THEY CAN'T help her unless she wants it, and she doesn't. So stop asking where her parents are. They're there if she wants them.

67. It's obvious that she's unstable right now. Everyone needs to let her be. With her "addictive personality." Whether it's drugs, drinking etc. Her newly addiction is the "paps." We may as well be taking her as an addict to a bar or being a "friend" and giving her whatever it takes for her not to FEEL at the moment. Stop giving her negative and DISTRUCTIVE attention! Don't feed into this. In time, if she's left ALONE, she'll be OK.

70. I had the oppurtunity to see the madness that is the britney spears papparazzi chase. I am a regular civilian, i went on x17 saw that ms.sPEARS WAS staying at the four seasons. i went there and saw ms.spears leave the fs. and about 10 carsfollow her down santa monica.The paps nearly killed some pedestrians. they run red lights,drive on the wrong side of the road and dgaf about who they hurt. somebody will diein this madness, and itwontbe ms. spears or a pap,but rather an innocent old lady or a helpless child. I think followingsomeone is something that should be illegal no matter who you are. The most experienced pap or some young kid spotter. after that one night i decided not to be a part of that madness anymore. i saw whatdanger it posed to me and the public. sites that keep a practical gps on these celebs make it easier for a stalker or a crazed fan to gain access to their heroes.

71. Intervention can be done no matter what age the person is. I wish her family would step up and do the right thing. Oh, well, Mom Spears is busy writing a book and 'managing' the younger sister....guess there is no time! People who have issues with alcohol, drugs and mental problems do push away the people who love and care for them the most. But, the people who really are committed to the troubled person always stand by them and get them the help they need. Maybe this has happened, most likely not. Best wishes to this family and may they find the happiness and peace that they deserve like the rest of us.

72. You people are morons if you think Britney calls the paparazzi. They camp outside her house and stalk her everywhere she goes. She has finally learned to just take it in stride. She was great tonight on the Leno re-run. I saw on TV recently the small apartment K-Dud lived in when he met Britney and the house, with pool, that he lives in now - thanks to Britney's money. He is a much bigger gold digger than any woman I've ever heard of. It's bad enough when women soak their ex- husbands for every dime they can, but when a guy does it, it's even more disgusting. He won't look for a job. He's too dumb to ever find one.
