Inhaler? We Hardly Knew Her! -- Brit's Drug Test

TMZ has learned Britney Spears will now say her false positive drug test may have been caused by her inhaler, which she uses for asthma.

Sources connected with Spears told TMZ yesterday that the drug that may have caused the positive was Provigil, used to treat narcolepsy. But TMZ did some digging and found Provigil would not show up on a court-ordered drug test.

Now the same source says the drug that showed up may have been Albuterol, an asthma drug. But, again, we checked and Albuterol is not an amphetamine, and the class of drug that showed up on the test was an amphetamine.

K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will press the issue tomorrow in court. Stay tuned.

274. I'm a drugs worker and Britiney is talking comlpete rubbish, the said inhaler would not cause a false drugs test. A false drugs test is due to taking drugs, nothing else!!!

It depends id ther is being urine tested or blood tested or just the routine mouth swip. Even so, having been a drugs worker for over 10 years lets face it Britney is out of control and an addict. Until she see's this for her self she can tell as many tales as she like to try and get out of court trouble.

275. if her test came up for amphetamines she could be taking Adderall or Ritilon for ADHD or just ADD. they both have amphetamines in them.

277. Sounds like a typical addict..... Speaking as mother, if you dont love yourself to take care of yourself, you arent capable of loving anyone else around you. Including your precious children. The courts will do the right thing in this situation. I hope the best for those 2 precious boys, and Kevin seems to have it together! he is doing well for his kids. Brit on the other hand - Grow the **** up get some better people around you. Go back to rehab, and stay there as long as you can. Come back better, regain your life and care for your babies.

280. Before jumping to conclusions about her using drugs you should check your facts. There are numerous over the counter drugs that can cause false positive drug results. A poppy seed muffin can show positive for opiates. Ibuprofen can show positive for THC. Allergy and cold medications can show positive for amphetamines. It is unfair to judge Britney (although she seems to be of less than average intelligence) before all the facts are out.
