Inhaler? We Hardly Knew Her! -- Brit's Drug Test

Britney spearsTMZ has learned Britney Spears will now say her false positive drug test may have been caused by her inhaler, which she uses for asthma.

Sources connected with Spears told TMZ yesterday that the drug that may have caused the positive was Provigil, used to treat narcolepsy. But TMZ did some digging and found Provigil would not show up on a court-ordered drug test.

Now the same source says the drug that showed up may have been Albuterol, an asthma drug. But, again, we checked and Albuterol is not an amphetamine, and the class of drug that showed up on the test was an amphetamine.

K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will press the issue tomorrow in court. Stay tuned.

33. brit, u dont have asthma! ive had it my whole life and i know what its like to struggle with it and be sick in the hospital because it complicates other areas of my life. you suck so badly brit. just admit ur a drug addict!!! geez!!!! give it up!

Why is she on all that crap in the first place. She smokes, she does not have asthma! and with all the caffeine I highly doubt she has a sleeping disorder give me a break.
She has a un-healthy life style that would make anyone tired!

40. i dont feel sorry for her AT ALL and i'll tell you why. as a social worker i see MANY people with REAL problems that don't have the financial means to help solve those problems. whether its drugs, alcohol, having your kids taken away, therapy needs, etc. and here this SKANK has the financial means to get help but she chooses not to. not only that but she's an irresponsible stupid selfish brat who has no business being a mother. and she's a complete imbicile to boot- she does NOT have asthma (i've read that in various places) yet she uses an inhaler to lose weight b/c she's an idiot

41. This story is false. TMZ retracted this story 3 days ago about a positive drug test. I am not sure what is the motivation here but this story is not true. TMZ you really need to do better than this. By the way I note that a lot of you seem very knowledgeable on narcotics and drug tests. Lot of specialists here...

42. #27... Unfortunately, many people with asthma smoke--do you really think a nicotine junkie is going to let common sense interfere with getting a fix? I'm constantly trying to get my ex to quit smoking. A, she has asthma, and B, even more importantly, she's a horrible example to my daughter.

44. Maybe she's on benzedrine. It's an aphemtamine used to treat ADHD and if anyone has a hyperactivity disorder, it's Britney. That, or she's just flat out manic-depressive.
