Inhaler? We Hardly Knew Her! -- Brit's Drug Test

Britney spearsTMZ has learned Britney Spears will now say her false positive drug test may have been caused by her inhaler, which she uses for asthma.

Sources connected with Spears told TMZ yesterday that the drug that may have caused the positive was Provigil, used to treat narcolepsy. But TMZ did some digging and found Provigil would not show up on a court-ordered drug test.

Now the same source says the drug that showed up may have been Albuterol, an asthma drug. But, again, we checked and Albuterol is not an amphetamine, and the class of drug that showed up on the test was an amphetamine.

K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will press the issue tomorrow in court. Stay tuned.

I can assure you I am in no way envious of the disaster that is Britney Spears. I click on the articles because I find the coverage interesting and I'm genuinely worried about her little boys.

I'm simply a big fan of TMZ and I despise people who comment with for no other reason than to call TMZ a bunch of liars.

It's the same thing I tell Howard Stern haters - you don't like it, turn it off.

You don't like TMZ - don't read it.

Oh, and Rerun - it's "you're" not "your" as I assume you were attempting to use the contraction of "you are."

I'm also not black - though I don't quite get what you were going for there anyway.

92. Ok, so I hate to admit I am just as addicted to this crap as everyone else. I am not a brit fan or supporter, but I like to check facts. I did a wikipedia search for amphetamine, and one form of it treats the "daytime drowsiness symptoms of narcolepsy". I hope for her sake she wasn't that stupid, but you never know... She has definitely got a track record....

95. Could be off base here but maybe Brit-Brit is just NORMAL like the rest of us? Everyone over the age of 26 is guilty of making stupid mistakes, thinking we knew it all, thinking we were always right, partying way too much, and the ones of us with children are guilty of becoming better parents ... because we tried all the wrong ways the first time around! We however had the benefit of not being put under a microscope so the entire world could review our mistakes and mock us for having been so stupid.

In time Britney is going to see the light...hopefully sooner rather than later. The good news is that if she opens her eyes soon enough her kids won't remember any her transgressions....they will have to purchase archives from TMZ when they grow up!

It seems to me that you and Perezhilton have made it your mission to make her life miserable, what is sad about it is people reading this stuff don't see how slanted and one sided all of your pieces are. I know everyone is going to hate the comparison but I have to compare her to Princess Di, if I recall the tabloids used to be on her every move and were rotten to her, it was only after her death that she became so very much loved. Do some research you naysayers.

103. Listen up, she does NOT have asthma as a friend of mine does. He starts choking if he is even around smoke, especially cigarette smoke. Second, diet pills do NOT cause a false positive. When i was younger, I always used to take yellow jackets with my friends and actually had to take a piss test to play football and it never showed up. So what conclusion does that leave us with all of you bright young children?DING DING DING! This dumb ho is using meth or some other kind of drug. Probably even around her children.
