Dr. Adams Practiced Here

Dr. Jan Adams operates out of the Brentwood Surgery Center -- which sits above a Kinko's and Quiznos in Brentwood, Calif.

BSC would not confirm that Donda West had her surgery there, however, TMZ spoke with an employee who told us that Dr. Adams was not in today (surprise) and she didn't know when he'd be back. Wait -- there's something wrong with the neon sign!

Dr. Jan Adams told TMZ Monday night he had done nothing wrong and that Kanye West's mother likely succumbed to a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or from massive vomiting after returning home from surgery.

48. chunky monkey - I got my facts from Us Weekly

Also, you don't have to be board certified to perform plastic surgery in California, you only have to have a license to practice medicine

49. This is terribly unfortunate, but maybe now that someone of a "celebrity status" has been killed by a quack, we can finally get some kind of law passed regarding these butchers that call themselves doctors. Yes, a DUI does have to do with his practice and how he performs. Who wants to be the patient on the table the morning after one of his benders? This information should be made available to the general public. I was butchered by an orthopod during a hip replacement, because he had an addiction. The hospital knew all about his history, and was trying to get rid of him, but I knew none of this. He even had a restraining order against him from a prior hospital's chief of staff! I ended up with a staph infection, the wrong size prosthetic, an oozing hole in my hip, a leg that ended up being 2 1/2 inches longer than the other, and a screw in my abdomen right near my vena cava which made no sense. I had to have my hip removed for 10 months, went through 18 weeks of IV antibiotics at home, and had to endure 8 operations because of this addicted idiot. He is such an idiot that he disappeared when my hip got infected, and I had to find a specialist to fix his mess. I was not even forty when this happened ,and will have to live with this for the rest of my life. I was never able to recover any form of compensation from him either, because he had no malpractice insurance so this is my recourse, and hopefully my story will save someone from doctors like this.

BEWARE OF ORTHOPODS PRACTICING IN MACHIAS MAINE! This slime moved out of my state, and is currently practicing in your town as we speak. He knows who he is, and if you are reading this, I hope you are proud of yourself for you have left a trail of tattered lives wherever you go.

50. thanx jr.... i'm not sure if it is manditory for plastic surgeon patients to get clearance from an internist for such procedures - after seeing this, I think it should be manditory now!

51. TMZ is only successful because they deal in what there customers want and They advertise "Celebrity Gossip" I did run across "theotherblog" that seemed pretty good if this gets to far out of hand.

52. chunky monkey - it isn't mandatory to get clearance before surgery and it won't be either because it will be too expensive in the medical community and young people don't need it. So it won't ever happen.

53. wicked - i meant medical clearence for people over 40-45 (depending on their health) mind you Kanye's mom was almost 60 and most certainly should have undergone tests before such procedures.

54. Butchered... I am just over 40 and have considered going under the knife - but not anymore. I do understand the risks now thanks to the internet - I understand your anger towards your inept doctor.

55. he good doctor!

56. BUTCHERED
So sorry to hear what happened to you. Some doctors can be careless bastards!!!
Someone should hunt that doctor down.
My family also had a bad experience. The AMA simply issued a letter, saying no wrong doing and that was the end of that.
Doctors think they can make mistakes and get away with.
I think Michael Moore is correct to say we need new health care standards in this country.
I hope however gets elected president in 08 will have the balls to stand up to the health care industry.
I hope West's family (because they have money and can afford to hire a good attorney) sue the crap put of this so called doctor!! Everyone should be provided with excellent attorney's when it comes to health issues. Maybe then the doctor's would not be so careless.

57. Really... they'll have a hard time collecting - he already has a line formed to collect $$. One being 500 million (if that was quoted correctly on the Fox news tonight).

59. CHECK OUT YOUR DOCTOR.
I was hospitalized last year. A dotcor came in my room late night 11PM or so...he reeked of alcohol. Obviously he had been drinking.
I was scared to report him because I was uninsured and needed health care.
If I had to do it over again, I would have reported him immediately.
It's funny how health care professionals are the least professional people out there.
Check out the latest episode of ER. The doctors were all out together and drinking.
Many Doctors don't have good judement. Including this doc in California.

60.
ok well thank you for the update on the neon sign TMZ!

Those that are saying Donda should have known better in choseing her doctor have the advantage of all the dirt on the guy now. He had a good rep day before yesterday, people thought because he was on TV he must be good! I'm sure he was refered to Donda by someone .
