Oprah, NBC, Discovery -- What's the Deal with the Dr.?

The doctor who performed surgery on Kanye West's mother was booked on some big TV shows, but it appears none of the producers knew about his malpractice suits, allegations of sexual battery and physical assault, DUI convictions and pending disciplinary action before the Medical Board of California.


It took TMZ three hours to turn up the goods on Dr. Adams. So why were Oprah, Discovery Health, NBC and others in the dark? We asked for comment. Watch the piece that aired tonight on TMZ TV and judge for yourself.

16. Oprah's viewers are asking her to comment on the NY Times story questioning the originality of Jessica Seinfeld's book. Seems the book was not very original, but copied from one that was published some time back. Oprah is dragging her feet (ignoring) instead of answering the questions posed by her viewers. Huuuummmm

17. TMZ, Please, PLEASE do not extend coverage at Ms. West funeral services. Please allow Kanye and her family and friends to grieve with as much dignity and privacy as possible! If you must photograph people coming to and from, do so with long distance lenses so as not to disturb the people involved. This is not the time for photos... it's all about respect for human dignity.

19. If I took the time to research all of the books and if a KKK or a Neo Natzi or a bigot wrote it. I would never read a great book. O can not interview all ppl, same as for the School she built. A great book tells a story about the ppl in the book, not the bias/racist one ,may be writing it.

20. Such a pattern around Oprah. Those her work for her or with her are apparently under strict orders never to say NO to the BIG O. Nor apparently to do complete research on whomever or whatever she feels like personally pushing.

She has become almost Nixonian in her Leadership Style---coming to believe she always knows best and doesnt taken into consideration those under her. Its a terrible way for a Leader to be at this Stage of the game and usually results in overlooking an apparent minor detail that blows up into a national outrage.

Her record this past year reflects this type of Leading. Ignoring what Smoking Gun already had on the Million Little Pieces author, embarassing herself on Larry King over it, than the Seinfeld Cook book and the apperance of Payola, the School Scandal, this one, etc.

Learn to listen to those who work for you, accepting their input and she might not make these types of blunders.

Shes had her spin...just as she replaced Phil Donahue, time for a new Generation of someone to take the reigns and do so with an open mind and an inclusive style of Leading.

23. Oprah is not about helping humanity, Oprah is all about the Oprah bottom line. Anyone who views the Oprah show and accepts everything at face value is at minimum foolish or naive. Anyone who buys some celebrity "plastic surgeon's" line is in line for being fleeced with possibly the worst shearing of their life.

Anyone who allows medical procedures to be performed on their own body, when there is no medically justifiable reason, but just for their own vanity needs to see a head-shrinker.

25. Some of you are just pathetic ! So now Oprah is somehow responsible for this unfortunate situation. Well I guess that she's also to blame for the war in Iraq, the outrageous gas prices,poverty,school violence etc...

27. What in the ___ is going on here?? I feel sorry for Kayne, as his Mom is not even laid to rest and all this information is coming out about this doctor's ability and his character. She had some pre-operative health issues --- it is a no brainer. Anyone considering this type of surgery should take a second opinion. My condolences go out to all the family.
