Adrianne Curry Hot for Obama?

Adrianne Curry -- the first "winner" of "America's Next Top Model" -- angered some folks in September when she called for a boycott of BET and Black History Month. Since then, the ditzy model recanted her silly statements, saying she was just misunderstood. Mmmm hmmm.

Considering her questionable pseudo-political opinions, it seems curious that Curry has now thrown her support behind presidential candidate Barack Obama. What a flip-flopper!

61. Why do we care what she thinks..Does she live in Iowa??

62. CC and College Grad:

I do not spend my time counting faces in shows. That would take away from the entertainment factor. However - I do remember watching several episodes of Fresh Prince (and several other of the shows I have listed) that DO deal with racism issues and the struggle that goes with it. many times there is a good message to be learned.

Also, some of those shows are old - but some are new and on TV right now! In fact, to help me remember the names of all of the shows I went to the TV Guilde website and serached my local listings for tonight's lineup. These were the shows that are on NOW! Whether the are reruns or not - they are being played.

FOOTNOTE: Oprah is not on UPN. In fact, she is the wealthiest and most sucessful celebrity of all time, far and above any white celebrity.

I think the issues we are struggling with is being SEPARATED into black and white, and when you actually name a channel BLACK entertainment, Miss BLACK USA, and things to that nature you separate us again.

What you need to do is advocate equal rights - not create your own.

64. As stupid and annoying as I find her, Adrianne has always been a big Obama supporter, ever since it became fashionable for the far left anyway. In fact, I argued with her about it when she came out for Obama, telling her that he is not a viable candidate for this election and should wait until he has more experience.

Of course, she actually thinks that she is a star and she's very wrong about that too.

65. 52. What about the "token" white people on the Cosby show? It wasn't and hasn't ever been on BET. I could really care less if certain stations cater to certain ethnic, age, gender, or sexually oriented groups. But, in all fairness if a station catered to white people, it would be viewed as racist.

Okay since we goin that route...What about "Friends" They lived in NYC and for years, you never saw a black person...until Miss Keisha and Joey got together. That actually made me watch. Then I realized what a funny show it actually was.

What we are talking about here is shows centered around a Black cast. There are plenty of shows that we Co Star on (I'm talking about NETWORK TV ABC, CBS, NBC and the like.) That hasn't happened since Fox came along with In Living Colour. And even that wasn't a totally black cast, but the creator was. (Shout out to the Wayans family LOL) Y'all have every other damn channel on the network that caters to your culture. That's all well and good. But we would like the same.

Since BET has been taken over by Viacom its lost all its appeal which is why I am glad for TVOne. No videos , but it plays every black sitcom and movie you could ever think of. (Watched Cleopatra Jones the other day. That was the baddest chick ever)

Lesbian and Gays have LOGO which has the most interesting show on it call Bad Girls I thoroughly enjoy. Could do without the girl on girl action, but the script is quality work. (of course its from Britain)

My point is, America needs to be represented as a whole. Point blank period. Hispanics have their Channels, Lesbians and Gays have their Channel, African American's have theirs...and white people have whatever the hell is left...which is pretty much the remaining 217 channels left on my Direct TV line up..

I'm almost certain that Obama couldn't do any worse than the Nit Wit we have in office now. And how much experience do you need to actually become president. Do any of you all know the requirements to becoming president. Probably not so I'll run it down

Qualifications for the Office of President

Age and Citizenship requirements - US Constitution, Article II, Section 1

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

Term limit amendment - US Constitution, Amendment XXII, Section 1 – ratified February 27, 1951

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

Seems like he's qualified to me. Hell I could be president in 5 years. All of the "Experience" arguments folks have for Obama are BS. He's served in public office and his ideas and views are some I would gladly welcome. And what America needs.

I know the whole democratic line up is better than the idiots we have in office now. I'm still reeling over the damn Valerie Plame issue and how Darth Cheney eluded prosecution.

I wanted to respond to that whole Oprah footnote. Yes Oprah is wealthy but at what cost meaning if you take a look at the trasformation of Oprah from way back in the 80's when she started till today you'll see she's not the same person. The little chubby Black Girl from the backwoods of MISSISSIPPI with that bit of a street demeaner is gone. She over the years transitioned over to be accepted by the quote on quote Mainstream community. Look at her audience the majority of black faces shrunk down to maybe a few sprinkles here and there. Oprah knew to make her money she basically had to become a middle aged middle class suburban white woman. That's who mainly watches her shows now. To make it in this country many people basically have to conform to what other people deem as correct or the right way of thinking. With that struggle many people lose who they are and where they come from. But hey I guess you got to do what you got to do to make that cash to survive in AmeriKKKa.

72. Her support alone is enough reason for me to not support Obama, just like Chuck Norris's support of Huckabee knocked him out of the race with intelligent voters.

When will pseudo-celeb airheads figure out that we don't care what they think about politics?

73. I know we went way off topic but At least we get to Vent our Peace on the whole BET situation.
