"Kramer's" Racist Tirade -- Has It Been a Year Already?

Where has the time gone?


It's been 365 days since Michael Richards, previously best known playing Cosmo Kramer on the hit TV show "Seinfeld," unleashed a verbal assault on a heckler at the Laugh Factory that featured the repeated use of the N word.

Yesterday, the Laugh Factory "celebrated" the anniversary with a press conference at the club. Though it was promoted that Michael Richards would be there, he was not.

Perhaps he wanted to acknowledge this day in his own special way.

121. I do think to some extent that it does matter if the general public forgive him or not....if he can't sell tickets to his shows...his career is done. He needs to lay low and move forward. we are all guilty of at one time or another saying something that we regret....I think I guess it's pathetic how we as a whole have taken steps backwards in society. The things we should be fighting for we don't and we use up all our energy on things that waste our time. people get up today and support a cause....one that is bound to make a difference. regardless of color. I'm white...I know alot of white trash...they abuse the system just like everyone else. I'd like to buy the world a coke.....you know the words..sing everyone!!!!!!

This is a big problem here. Majority rules with all cultures, therefore human nature attaches a stigma to their nationality.

Civilized is with taste, class and refinement, with restraint. That is the American way of living.

124. It's amazing how tolerant TMZ is of racism with these comments. You remind us of a year old story about a racist rant and then give a free forum to his white racist supporters to respond. The racial hatred of these comments are sickening. TMZ should not hide behind freedom of speech in allowing this hate speech to continue. All those who are making racist comments are just proving black peoples point about racism and sadly racism at TMZ..

128. Wow, sounds like so many racist rants here. Don't worry, you're all forgiven. Probably 'cause nobody cares what anyone else is saying anyway. But most are ranting because you just read something someone else wrote and are reacting. Now imagine Michael Richards being heckled. It was a low blow, but a human mistake. And the guy heckling him might not really like comics or Jews. Who knows and how cares? The truth is, we DON't ALL like everybody equally. No matter how much we try, we like some people more than others, we like those who are most like us. It''s a genetic survival thing. We can deny it all we want. Even people like Oprah fight it. She's been caught (taped withought her knowing) talking down about white women and somehow people don't get in a lather over it. Let's be honest. I love my family, I love my friends and I try to do as much good for others as I can. But when I'm out in public, some people annoy me just by their looks and actions and I know I'd never like them as much as the people I choose to. Is that racist? They may be in my own race. They're just not MY PEOPLE, so they matter that much less to me. If the building's on fire, I'm saving my own first, then I'll help others. Human nature. I'm in no position to judge anyone since I know I have my own issues. Nor does he care if I forgive him, but YES, I'll watch old Seinfeld re-runs and laugh my ass off.

131. You know I bet all the people who said that he wasn't at fault was white. You people are so ignorant. I thought that the 21st century was the 21st century, but I guess that we still are in the 19th and 20th century. What he did was wrong regardless of the man was doing. The guy that was in the audience deserved to get talked about but start throwing racial slurs at people that is cool. And to talk about how ignorant black people like that when white people are the ones who are going into schools and killing everyone in the schools and then killing themselves. Also doing meth and the most dangerous drugs are basically all your white people, but yea since u stupid people think you know everything. Go ahead with your racist selves. 132. You know what, I have noticed that TMZ readers and comments are just racists SOBs. Everytime I go to a thread associated with a person of color, everyone has something negative to say. 133. Let's face it, no one really cares what he said. Some of the usual suspects of course will whine and sputter and be filled with self-righteous horror but most people just don't give a s**t.
