Donda West Laid to Rest

Kanye West buried his mother, Dr. Donda West, today in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The ceremony was held at the True Vine Ministry church, which can hold up to 2,500 people. Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the services, and John Legend and Anita Baker performed, according to AccessHollywood.com.

Kanye reportedly broke down inside the church while talking about his mother, saying he wanted her to not "rest in peace, but rest in paradise."

18. I tear every time I read about what he must be going through, it's such a tragic mistake. He must focus his energy and write a couple of good song about what mom meant for him.

I would devote my time and money to hunt the doctor and making sure he is apprehended and incarccerated for what his done. That would be a good punishment, so can feel how it feels what it is to be stripped of everything he owns, plus to leave him without any money with a civil suit and open a DONDA foundation in her name.

19. Kanye is going to become a stronger man and artist through this tragedy. His mother raised him right. It is good to see him being so strong. He's got a hard road ahead, though. I think the first year really IS the hardest, just learning how to live life without your loved one. Then that first year starts to come along, and you realize that life does, INDEED, go on, and that we can live even after the death of a loved one that you depended on and leaned on so much. Peace be with you, Kanye. Your Mom is resting in paradise.

20. I also think Oprah, Discovery channel any one else who decided to televise him as a professional are responsible. They were the one who in promoting him made these women seek for such expert (but they did not know that he was not certify). In my view what would have done the same mistake if I would have been looking for such service because TV sells us an idea that we believe it to be true 110% of the time. Oprah should be held accounttable too.

24. To Susan, #7: You are a heartless jerk for using such a sad forum to bash a guy. This is not the place to do it. Go ahead and dislike the guy, but this thread is about the funeral of his mother. Stop being a heartless jerk and show some respect. Gee, cold hearted folks in here.

27. #23 Who cares what you speculate about it being a closed casket, what do you care anyways, idiot! It's a tragic loss for Kanye and best wishes to him and his grieving process. Rest in paradise, eloquently put.

29. To: PVTNANA #20: Are you serious!? How can you hold Oprah responsible for having him on her show back in 2003?? She hasn't had contact with the man since then...and since then has stressed the importance of what to look for when selecting a plastic surgeon. You didn't know that did you! You are trying to bring her into this because you are jealous of her success and probably another racist. I cannot think of any other stupid reason why you would bring her name into this. Some of these comments in here are just ridiculous.

30. My heart is breaking.
What a wonderful mom Kanye was blessed with, RIP Dr. West.
