R.I.P.
Donda West Laid to Rest

Kanye West buried his mother, Dr. Donda West, today in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The ceremony was held at the True Vine Ministry church, which can hold up to 2,500 people. Beyonce and Jay-Z attended the services, and John Legend and Anita Baker performed, according to AccessHollywood.com.

Kanye reportedly broke down inside the church while talking about his mother, saying he wanted her to not "rest in peace, but rest in paradise."

46. Nothing like smiling and laughing with family at your mother's funeral. I'm sure she's happy about that. God rest her soul.

48.
I hope one day he lets go of the angry poverty raised rapper role and shows himself to be the son of a woman who was educated and worked hard to better herself against many odds.

49. I know why Kanye West was smiling, he just did an after burial ritual like me and my family did. First this is for 23yrds and up ONLY. At the lunch get together. we(meaning the IN group) roll up some beautiful natural grass. Have a blast when the pictionary comes out!(game we would always play). After that we have another "session" then ask the grasshoppers to drive us to the the boardwalk down the street a bit. they have the jeff gordon stock cars there to go-cart in! Boy did we have fun

Kanye i feel your pain much love goes out to the whole family and any one else who is there for you in your time of pain. may yours' time heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul. Bye Kanye be safe.

50. I am so sick about hearing about her death and now the up-to-the minute coverage of her funeral. People die everyday and many people die because they are vain instead of accepting what God gave them or actually putting in some effort and working out at the gym.

Enough already !!!

My mother died 2 years ago and I miss her just as much today as I did the day I laid her down to rest. Sleep tight ms. West and watch your baby he needs you now. for comfort. God bless them both. 52. Well, this wins the prize for "grandstanding!" Does Jan Adams really think the audience bought his well-scripted "act." He could have cancelled that interview ANYTIME BEFORE AIR-TIME...

I think it will come back to haunt him because all it did was prove what a phony he is. I remember watching his program on Discovery and thinking that if I ever wanted plastic surgery, I would want him to peform it. The guy is totally smooth, suave and a fast talker. Shame on Discovery for not finding out he was not Board certified. Even I could check that out on the internet.

He knew that Donda West should not have surgery performed because of existing problems, and he took a hell of a chance on a nice lady, who also made the mistake of "doctor shopping" because she didn't like the fact that the first doctor refused to do the surgery.

In any case, very sad...

55. My friend's dad died at 48 yrs old after he had his upper and lower teeth removed for dentures. He couldn't take the pain and felt like the pills were not working so he took more.He over dosed but didn't mean to. I also know of a woman who went in for a heart procedure and got a lung infection. The doctors gave her days to live and she made it through. She is at home but bed ridden.People heal different and some don't heal at all.My thoughts and prayers go to the West Family. It's just a bad situation. You can blame everything but it won't bring her back.I will say that In my opinion(which doesn't mean anything) she had way too many procedures at one time.I "think" her poor little body just couldn't handle it.

56. I used to think that Kanye West was an ego-crazied lunatic and a sore loser. But, after seeing his interviews with his beloved mother and reading about how close their relationship was, I have gained respect for him. Like the late Tupac Shakur, whom I aslo admire, Kanye West has a true artistic talent and that, I believe, was instilled in him thanks to his mother. I really admire people who are literate and respect literature and that, I think, is the legacy that Kanye's mother will, in part, be remembered for.

I think that Kanye West, despite what other critics may say, is healthy and that he is dealing with his mother's passing in a healthy, pro-active manner and that critics should lay off of him for not reacting to this tragedy in a way that is, perhaps, "normal." I will reiterate that his behavior is healthy and I think that he should be an example to young kids and his peers.

I hope that Kanye West will continue on the straight path and not get into trouble. I also hope that he will become slightly more humble when and if he does not receive wirthy awards.

That's all!

58. YOU MEAN TO TELL/SHOW ME NOT ONE WHITE PERSON WAS INVITED TO THE FUNERAL?

I THOUGHT THE WEST FAMILY WAS EDUCATED? CRAZY HOW ITS NOT A BIG DEAL WHEN A BLACK PERSON IS RACIST.

59. @COUNTER PART

So you really just want to have something to complain about right? People are always saying blacks are pulling the race card, but look at some of you. Damn the video wasn't but a 1:09 and the camera was focused on Kanye the whole time. I'm pretty sure they didn't do roll call and film EVERY single person at the funeral, besides I say some white people in the crowd so please stop trying to make it like Kanye is a racist.
