31. It's anorexia. I am recovering from it and i had a really bad kidney infection from it 2 years ago. Its pretty serious... she needs to go back to treatment

33. Ashley is the one hooked up with Lance Armstrong. Mary-Kate is the anorexic one - if anyone can tell the difference. And last I heard, anorexia does cause kidney complications. Or she could just be sick.

35. I've had kidney infections off and on for a large part of my life. One time so bad that I was hospitalized for a week and that infection came on in less than a day. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs and I'm pretty healthy otherwise. Don't judge unless you know all the facts.

Kidney infections are NOT caused from to much sex! and I hardly think that would be Mary Kates problem anyway unless it has been with a Starbucks cup.

40. Okay people, listen up!
You get a kidney infection from a UTI - or Urinary Tract Infection. The infection travels from your urethra (sp?) to your kidneys. UTI's are very common among women.
You can get the infection from, among other things: 1. Not enough water; 2. Bad habits (eating, drinking, and not going to the bathroom when you need to); 3. And sex (and not having emptied your bladder before and then again afterwards).
Symptoms are: trouble peeing, feeling the urge to go, back pain, and high fever.
It can turn very dangerous, very quickly.
Kidney shut down is a symptom of Anorexia. Could it be that? Who knows.

But I do want to know, like the rest of you: What the hell is she wearing?

Her white Beefeater outfit, Debra Messing's orange moo moo and Britney's nasty boots and that damn white purse really oughta take a break.

41. As others have said, anyone can get a kidney infection. I've had them from drinking too much Diet Coke instead of water. Not smart but hardly scandalous. They really aren't uncommon, and a few days (or an IV) of antibiotics clear them right up.

I think sex (and wiping back to front) can contribute to bladder infections but never heard of any connection there to kidney infections.

42. Wow, lots of people jumping to rather mean conclusions over the cause of M-K's kidney infection! They are very common, and can be caused by stress, or by a urinary tract infection that travels into your kidneys. I had one right after my wedding, most likely brought on by stress. It was horribly painful, so I feel for her! Sheesh people, give her a break!
