Lets Get This Party Started
Brit's "Blackout" Wipes Out

One thing Britney Spears is not thankful for: the support of the record-buying public.

That's because "Blackout" is now officially a total and utter flop. It has sold a total of 430,000 copies after a full month of release, according to the ever-perspicacious FOX News, and it's going nowhere fast. Consider that each of Brit's first three albums sold north of 10 million units (and the first two – more than 20 mil), and that the fourth, "In the Zone," sold 609,000 in its first week. Britney's getting' dinged hard, y'all.

Boy George Ordered to Stand Trial

Singer-bizarro Boy George will have to face trial for possibly really wanting to hurt a Norwegian man.

As the Daily News reports, the Culture Club frontman appeared in a London court yesterday, and was ordered to stand trial for allegedly handcuffing a man to a bed and threatening him with sex toys. After his hearing, George – real name George O'Dowd – left the court without a word, and prosecutors would only say that the incident took place April 28 in George's flat.

Party Favors: Ne-Yo Explains Holding Hayden's Hand ... Miley's Dad Wants "Hannah" in Tennessee

Ne-Yo tells People that all that fuss about him holding Hayden Panettiere's hand outside a club and going home to the same hotel is just silly. "She had these shoes – they were cute – but they were torture devices, so I had to help her," he says. ... Billy Ray Cyrus – these days better known as Miley Cyrus' dad – wants "Hannah Montana" to be shot in Tennessee, where the Cyrus family lives and where the movie's action takes place, but needs Tennessee to step up with financial incentives.

16. 430,000 sold means there are 430,000 tone-deaf people with too much disposable money. She is and always has been a terrible vocalist. I can't even call her a singer because she whines and drags her weak voice through baby talking whimpers that only some pre-pubescent teen who is too stupid to know the difference would buy. She calls the media to tell them her every move wo she is constantly photographed. She is a pig.

20. A flop just because it has sold ONLY 400,000 copies? Do you know how many artists would die for those numbers???
Get over it people. She'll always have a lot more money than any of you.

22. All CD sales have bit hit hard in the pocket book due to the downloading of MP3s. You can pay for a song for .99 cents, and if you do not like the album you can just pay for the songs that you want. That has been the trend since the early 2000s. No one is going to sell 25,000,000 CDs that Mariah Carey sold in the 1990s. Times have changed, and purchasing trends of consumers have also changed.
A successful CD now sells 700,000 in its first week like the Eagles and Alicia Keys. Britney at least has Gimme Gimme as a successful single even if her album didn't do very well on the charts.

25. Why does the shock factor have to sell in music. You know kids want to buy records if there's something shocking attached to it such as dirty lyrics or the artist living controversial lifestyles. I'm a big Beatles and Doors fan but I blame John Lennon and Jim Morrison for this. Lennon had to open his big mouth with his we're bigger in England than Jesus to the youths there. Morrison had to put profanity that he wanted to have sex with his mother and kill his father in the Doors first album on the song "the End." I really think that a lot of new artists aren't even musician. I don't even think that Marilyn Manson can play a note of an insturment. The same goes for Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake. I think that record executives get together in a board meeting and choose them not based on talent but on how well they can dance or entertain.

27. #13, Jeffrey - I'm happy for you if you like Blackout better than The Zone. That's cool and you're entitled to your personal opinion. However, the #'s speak for themselves. My personal opinion is that I don't like one any better than the other.
