Lets Get This Party Started
Brit's "Blackout" Wipes Out

One thing Britney Spears is not thankful for: the support of the record-buying public.

That's because "Blackout" is now officially a total and utter flop. It has sold a total of 430,000 copies after a full month of release, according to the ever-perspicacious FOX News, and it's going nowhere fast. Consider that each of Brit's first three albums sold north of 10 million units (and the first two – more than 20 mil), and that the fourth, "In the Zone," sold 609,000 in its first week. Britney's getting' dinged hard, y'all.

Boy George Ordered to Stand Trial

Singer-bizarro Boy George will have to face trial for possibly really wanting to hurt a Norwegian man.

As the Daily News reports, the Culture Club frontman appeared in a London court yesterday, and was ordered to stand trial for allegedly handcuffing a man to a bed and threatening him with sex toys. After his hearing, George – real name George O'Dowd – left the court without a word, and prosecutors would only say that the incident took place April 28 in George's flat.

Party Favors: Ne-Yo Explains Holding Hayden's Hand ... Miley's Dad Wants "Hannah" in Tennessee

Ne-Yo tells People that all that fuss about him holding Hayden Panettiere's hand outside a club and going home to the same hotel is just silly. "She had these shoes – they were cute – but they were torture devices, so I had to help her," he says. ... Billy Ray Cyrus – these days better known as Miley Cyrus' dad – wants "Hannah Montana" to be shot in Tennessee, where the Cyrus family lives and where the movie's action takes place, but needs Tennessee to step up with financial incentives.

46. I'd imagine that if you check with other performers you'd find that they put a lot of time and effort into preparing for their performances to make them successful. Besides loads of practise and reherasals they take time to prepare their bodies and voices. They spend a hell of a lot of time in promoting their work, too. She can't just sit back, let herself go and depend on her previous success to sustain her career. The competition out there is tough and she has to keep working on herself if she wants to stay in that business.

49. Regarding Britneys record sales....I realize she has sold in far greater numbers but if she sold 430,000 @ (I have no idea how much a CD costs) so let's say, $14.00, that would be a gross of over 6 Mil. How is that spread around?

Other "artists", have reps, handlers, managers, whatever that get a share. But Britney doesn't have anyone on her payroll except a driver and her "friends". So should she not at least get 35% of gross?

50. Oops, my earlier post said she is with Virgin Records...she's actually with Jive. Sorry.

51. My prediction......Jive will be dropping Britney from their roster. This was her last "required" CD under her contract with Jive.

I think that's just what Britney needs........to be BROKE. THEN KFED WILL GLADLY GIVE HER THE KIDS!!!!

52. Great that tmz is getting the word on listening to its BLOGGERS and starting to put Britney on the last colume on its last page instead of being the first thing we see when we log in and now is in the same breath as Boy George and Mil Cylus or whatever so great that we don't have to see Briney 1st anymore!

54. Am so GLAD AMERICA is SPEAKING through their pockets.

We must send a message, we will watch you and observe you ACTING LIKE A FOOL, but we WILL NOT contribute money to TRASH.

Then Maybe others will think twice and we won't be BOMBARDED with TRASHINESS, and have more balance in our MEDIA.

58. TO (#49), THE HIGHEST PAID ARTIST PER CD ARE ( SIR PAUL & MADONNA), WHO ARE PAID AT THE RATE OF ($2.20 US DOLLARS), PER CD. BRIT IS MOST LIKELY AT ( $1.25 MAX.). THE ARTIST GET (RIPPED -OFFED), AS PER CD, THEY MAKE THERE MONEY, WHEN THEY TOUR. HER MANAGEMENT GETS PAID FROM HER INCOME, NOT FROM THE GROSS, OF THE CD. AND REMEMBER SHE THEN HAS TO PAY TAXES ON THAT INCOME. THIS IS WHY SO MANY ARTIST ARE BROKE!!!!.SHE ALWAYS, HAD REALLY BAD MONEY ADVISERS, AND SHE IS IN TROUBLE NOW, WHETHER SHE KNOWS IT OR NOT, IT IS TRUELY ASHAME. BUT THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE BEAST IN THE RECORDING INDUSTRY!!!!!

59. First of all, there's a reason for no promotion. Could she have promoted it with
out her custody case pop up? Could she have gone on any talk show with out
people yelling, "Hey Britney why arn't you in california with your kids?" "Britney
you stink." or "Flash us Britney." or any other inslut you could think of. No one
would have given her any sort of respect.

I say it didn't help it. The downloads from the internet didn't help it thou it did
produce some hit singles and toped the download charts.

Others did well true, Yes they did promote it with adds runing on natural tv.
Mind you a while ago we wouldn't have heard about these sales because
of the billboard charts rules.

Because of Britney's year. people weren't expecting a multi platnum hit.
This has done as well as can be expected.
