Chelsea Handler's New Gig: Bigot?

Trying to joke about race can get you in a lot of trouble -- just ask Michael Richards. Last night outside of Koi, supposed comedian Chelsea Handler tried to do the same thing and, like Kramer, failed miserably.

She was approached by two cameramen -- one of whom was Chinese, the other (our guy) was African-American. Chelsea quipped that it was "crazy that you guys all travel together, Asians and Blacks. That's amazing." And they can vote now, too!

After a failed joke about Dog the Bounty Hunter, somehow a question about Britney Spears turned into Chelsea saying the Chinese photog was from "Vietcong-nam." When it was pointed out that he was, in fact, Chinese, Chelsea just said, "Whatever."

Guess she's the kind of comedian you just have to laugh at -- not with.

2. I don't think she is being racists. That's just who she is. I've watched her show before and that's just her sense of humor, her personality. I am an Asian american and I didn't really take offense to the first part of what she said. I did take offense to the last part of the video when she said "whatever" when the guy told her that the other dude is Chinese. That was the most offensive thing in the video.

3. Chelsea Handler has always been a dumb bitch. None of her jokes are actually funny, so she resorts to easy racist jokes to get a cheap laugh.

9. The john travolta joke was funny, but she was a little mean when she told the asian guy that stuff..

Of course its not a huge deal, but if she would of said the same thing about coming from africa black people would of been sooooo offended.

I dont think people should do racial jokes unless its about their own kind.. Its kinda like you can talk stuff about your own family and hate eachother, but if someone else says something you're ready to fight..lol

Her show isn't that good. She always has this bothered look on her face..it gets annoying

13. People are overly sensitive. Crap shes a comic, and thats what she does. If people don't like it they have a choice not to listen and watch. If you can't laugh, you can't live...and also as far as people complaining about race comments. Until we all quit saying derogatory things to each other as far as race goes, then you can't complain. Because even if a person of the same race says it..its still racist. I'm so tired of everyone pulling the damn race card....its so over.
