Prosecutors Will NOT File Charges Against Pierce Brosnan

TMZ has just received a statement from the L.A. County District Attorney:

"Los Angeles County prosecutors have decided NOT to file any criminal charges against actor Pierce Brosnan, who allegedly got into a scuffle with a photographer in Malibu last month. The District Attorney's office found that there was insufficient evidence to pursue a battery charge against the former 'James Bond' actor."

Brosnan had been under investigation for allegedly sucker-punching a paparazzo at a Malibu shopping center in October.

31. Nobody here makes any sense. Kaye especially making statements about beverly hills. PB lives in Malibu. I have lived in Malibu for now spanning two decades. I have been working with the city counsel and the sheriff dept. I now carry a camera everywhere i go and i photograph these dangerous paps whenever i see them break the law. I have tons of photos, and we the people of malibu are working on making a case and presenting it to, well one of you called him aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhnold. The dangerous paps will soon be done. I am sick and tired of these dangerous people threatening our lives here. The times are changing. Good luck tmz, people, us and whomever buy these photos. We know things you dont.

32. Here we go again--another celebrity getting away with assault and battery. The DA's office there in LA County have a reputation for being soft on the rich and famous. Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to name a few. If Brosnan didn't want any photos taken of his children then why take them to a public shopping mall? Why is it that most celebrities with children allow photos of their children to be taken and then move on to their activities without 'wigging out' at the paparazzi??? There seems to be an ego problem here as with some of the other big name celebrities who complain about their privacy and yet seek out the most public places they can find.

34. Insufficient evidence cited, folks. You must have evidence to support any charges.
Innocent until proven guilty.

If you watch the videos, you see that some paps absolutely GOAD some celebs trying to create news. I'm appalled at how some of them barge directly into another's personal space, while shouting inciteful statements, and am amazed at the self-control exhibited by most celebs. Call me stupid, but don't you think you'll get more from a celebrity in the long run being respectful or, heaven forbid, asking for an appointment like a professional? I guess that concept doesn't fit into today's 'instant non-news' category...
