Edging out favorite Mel B, race-car driver Helio Castroneves took home the disco ball trophy. Do women ever win this contest anymore?!
He and partner Julianne Hough came into the finals in second place, just one point behind the Spice Girl and his hotness Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Both couples received perfect scores of 30 from the judges in their final dance Tuesday.
As expected, Marie Osmond was eliminated first after her robot doll-inspired routine. QVC called, they'd like you back, Miss Osmond.
Looks like Hough is the lucky charm, having also won last year with speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.

Mel should have won. Helio may have had personality, but it was Julianne that got the votes on dancing. If you could take your eyes off how electric she was, you would have noticed that Helio was not as good as everyone thought.
Last night was disappointing. But I guess Sabrina felt that way too. She was awesome last night.
Stop bashing the Osmonds!!!

Helio deserved the win! He had no dancing experience whatsoever. His career is Indy racing! Mel B is a Spice Girl and has showman experience. I think the voting public got this right! It is about the unexpected moving forward and improving week after week. It doesn't matter if it's a male or female. This could have been Danaka Patrick but it wasn't. BUT, if it were a female athlete who competed and not a "celebrity who had dancing experience" and did as well as Helio, well then she would have won I'm sure. The real votes that count are from those of us who don't vote because of who we like but how we see the dancing. YES, Mel B is a great dancer but she should be - it's part of her bread & butter! And honestly though, this was the BEST YEAR ever! The voters got it right and Helio and Julianne are most deserving of that gaudy trophy!

CONGRATULATIONS HELIO & JULIANNE !!! GREAT JOB! LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD A BLAST DOING THE SHOW. (& alot of hard work) EVERYONE WAS REALLY, REALLY GOOOOOOOD THIS YEAR. THIS YEARS SHOW WAS THE BEST EVER. I ENJOYED IT MORE THAN ANY OTHER REALITY SHOW ON THE AIR THIS YEAR!!!!!! GREAT TV ABC!

I was rooting for Elio because I believe he was the most improved dancer on the show. Mel B. was definitely a better dancer, but Elio added something to his performances that she simply did not have.--- and that was pure enthusiasm and joy!

Congrats to Helio, he deserved to win. He worked hard, and all that hard work payed off.
Mel was a very good dancer. JMHO but some times she only got to pratice 2 hours all week and it showed.

Congatulations he really tried as hard as the rest of them but, I am glad he won. Place your trophy in your cabinet it was well earned. They all were good, but ,like every game there has to be one winner.

Mel B and Helio's dancing were both very good. I honestly can't say one was better than the other. That being said I am happy he won being that he doesn't come from a dancing and/or performing background like Mel B does. I am just personally less impressed by the people like Sabrina or Mario Lopez or anyone else that does well on the show but has been a dancer (not ballroom) before.

CONGRATULATIONS TO HELIO AND JULIANNE! My family has always voted for Julianne and no one else. What a encouraging and positive role model this beautiful, talented young lady is to thousands of little girls who put on their ballet slippers, tap shoes, tutu's and leotards every day to go to dancing class. Thank you Julianne for your dedication and hard work. We need more role models like you. Any aspiring dancer would be extremely lucky to have you as their dance teacher. CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm just so glad we don't have to listen to Marie Osmond talk about how old she is and her Brothers and that she is one of the worlds top Doll makers etc etc..She really should have been gone from that show long before some of the others.I think there needs to be a different voteing process for Dancing With the Stars..
