Usually it's the paps who hunt celebs, but yesterday, Julia Roberts was on the chase in L.A., driving on the wrong side of the road as she went after a photog!
Once they stopped, an irate Julia got out of her car and gave the pap the George Clooney treatment, scolding him for trying to snap pics of her children. Roberts demanded that the photog turn his camera off -- and he nervously obliged.
466. Being a famous actor/actress does not mean children should be stalked at their school. Not only are Julia's children there but other children are there as well (maybe mine or yours). Kids should be off limits no matter who there parents are. It appears Julia is always very gracious to the paparazzi if they are acting reasonable, but she reacted like any good mother would (famous or not) when she felt her children were being pursued. As a matter of fact I would respect her less if she did not feel the need to defend her children. Can we say Britney?

Why don't you read the facts before spouting off? Her children were not in the car; she was passing on a divided highway, not in the way of oncoming traffic. This was hardly the most dangerous lack of concern for safety anyone has ever witnessed, and she was hardly acting like a whore. You sound like someone who is jealous, bitter, and not very bright.

HERE'S the point. Ms. Roberts has SMALL CHILDREN, who are not celebrities and who have not chosen a public life. These paraps are STALKING small children who cannot defend themselves and who have a RIGHT to safety and privacy.
Regardless of who their mum is, photographers do not have a right to stalk children.
THAT is the issue. It is NOT whether you find Ms. Roberts attractive or talented or anything of the sort. It is a question of a mum definding her children's right to safe passage to their school without interference from people who invade lives for a living.
Grow up.

469. Driving on the wrong side was unfortunate, but I do understand her anger. Given the maniacal behavior of the papparazzi in this country and others I applaud her. That is a school zone and school was apparently convening. I wonder how many of those who are critisizing her behavior would still feel the same is their children attended that school and they were called to say their child was lying in the morgue because someone ran him down crossing the street, because the papparazziwanted a pic of Ms. Roberts to sell to some network or magazine that condones such behavior? Still, there would n't be this situation if the public centered on something more important than trash stories.

470. What the hell is wrong with people who are saying she deserves to be followed/photographed/etc. because she's a celebrity? That is debatable, but even if it's true, it's completely irrelevant. Julia chose to be an actress. Her young children did not. They are non-celebrity minors and should be left ALONE. It's reprehensible to photograph them without permission; it's reprehensible to be skulking around schools to photograph them; and it would be reprehensible if their mother *hadn't* tried to defend them.

471. there has been months with no pictures of julia. now, that she has a movie coming out we see her all the time. where was she at all this time. it is not fair to have a worker tell the paps where you are going to be then get upset that they are there.

472. There is no justification for a photographer to stalk children at the schoolyard just because their parent is famous. They are stalkers and predators and need to be treated as such.

473. I am glad Julia did what she did. Her kids shouldn't be photographed, and the pop's don't have any right to be at a school anyways. As far as her acting, i think she is a good actress. The Rest of you who don't agree can go to hell.

474. If I see a man crawling around the school full of kids, how was I to know if this man is sex offender or not....Julia did the right thing to scold him. It is not a place to take a picture at school. Especially the parents of children that attends school will be really upset with this man and maybe at Julia. I will be freaking out if someone creeps around the school and I will just calls the police instead.

480. Julia is right, and good for her. And yes, strange people with camera's do NOT belong anywhere near a child's school. The less "unknown" adults hanging around a school - the better, and safer for the children.
There really needs to be much stricter guidelines about where, and when the PAP can go, and can't go.
