Rodney King's Been Shot!

Rodney KingRodney King, famous for a videotaped beating from Los Angeles police back in 1991, was shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday.

King called Rialto police just before midnight to report the shooting. According to Sgt. Don Lewis, King was struck in the face and arm -- with what appeared to be pellets or birdshot. When police arrived at King's home, they reported that King and others inside appeared drunk. The man got shot in the face -- he deserves a drink!

King was taken to a local hospital, and his wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.

76. Uh, Anne, don't be a hater of what? Racists? I'll hate them all day long! I'm actually glad not to see more of them here. To be honest, I haven't heard a single thing about him since the trial until now. Looks like his life has not improved much since then? As 'common sense' just pointed out, it sounds like he is still getting 'zapped'.

77. Wow seriously? People are still going to make this an issue of race? The man was on PAROLE (meaning that he had previously been in PRISON) when he decided that he still can't follow the law and decided to evade arrest causing a high speed chase. He broke several laws and was later found to be on PCP. Yes okay, so they beat him excessively, but it has nothing to do with his color. Not only did he score $3 million from the LAPD only to waste it on drugs and alcohol, but he made ZERO attempts to better himself. Minus creating an unheard of "hip hop" company. He continued to get arrested for numerous drug counts and alcohol related offenses. The guy's a joke, stop feeling sorry for him.

80. First of all this knuckle head has been on the news after the beating 3 or 4 times and
was either speeding and high on drugs or drunk.
NO he did not deserve the beatings and 2 officers served 30 months in federal prison
for it plus 50 people were killed and millions of dollars wasted , all for this idiot,
there probably was many more legitimate and good people to RIOT for, but not
for this loser.

84. Bongo Billy:

That beating was the straw that broke the camel's back. If he did deserve the beating, as you state, what about the countless innocent people that have suffered unjustly at the hands of the police without a camera present?

88. My opinion is- he has escaped death/thedevil so many times-he needs to realize (that the) "FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER" has a special calling for him, so he better get it right before all of his chances are gone..."PRAISE fSM"

And somewhere back in reality...I was thinking, can't this guy catch a break? Then I thought, no, he puts himself in these situations where he won't ever catch a break. He drunk drives and DWBs through LA at a time when the city was notorious for rampant police corruption and general nastiness and gets beaten half to death. He gets a buttload of money and keeps drinking and beats his wife and gets in more trouble. He has all this wealth and moves to the type of neighborhood where a domestic gets you shot in the face. Rodney, wake up and smell the LAPD, man! Get off the booze, take your cash and move someplace nice in OC or Santa Barbara. You won't ever find peace until you use your head, respect your lady and get away from crime zones. Just sayin' is all...

89. Sounds like Rodney King got more of what was coming to him. It's unbelievable to think that an entire city rioted over someone like this; someone who consistently breaks the law, someone who the police beat not because they were racist but because they were protecting themselves and their city from a man who was high on drugs and dangerous. What would have happened if Rodney King were a white man? National headlines? Rioting? White supremacists running to his defense? Doubtful. Would Jesse Jackson and good old Reverend Al have shouted about the injustices the police are inflicting on "undeserving" individuals? Even more doubtful.
