62. To the people who have agreed with me, thank you, but I don't really want people dead. I was just making a point. Yes, it's frustrating to deal with such ignorant, horrible people, but we can't kill them - even if they deserve it. I do wish they could see the hurt they cause, and understand how morally low they are, but they won't. They all die in the end any way, after a much more limited life than ours.

I do hope that the people who have agreed with me find reasonable ways to be intolerant of intolerance. If we yell loud enough, we'll be heard. Being quiet doesn't work. Shout it out.

65. Nice point FIGHT. I just wonder how to deal with people who are so damaged mentally that they are a lost cause. I talk to people all the time about these things and have been horrified by people who are actually proud of their backwards thinking. I do have a serious problem with people who are willing to murder innocent people over material things and issues like racism. I can talk a very good talk on just about any level, but sometimes it is time to make a stand. Call it violent, but I felt good about putting a beat down on some racist idiot who called my friend the 'n-word' to his face while my friend was managing at his restaurant. He may not of learned much from his beating, but I told him exactly why he was getting his ass kicked while it was happening. I still have no regrets about it to this day. The guy was also a bully and he finally met his match on that day.

68. 'moral', about a hundred people saw it happen on a busy night. The guy was a bully who outweighed me by 60 #s and had 4" of height on me. He definitely became threatening in his talk and mannerisms. He got beat up, but left under his own power. He just didn't know that I have 14 years of close combat martial arts training under my 'belt'. My instructor does not permit random fighting and I live by that ideal. I do not look for fights and I am generally very peaceful and friendly, but he crossed the line and paid for his ignorance. I made a lot of new friends that night. If I am a 'felon' for standing up for people's rights and defending people who cannot defend themselves, then so be it!

70. I understand what you're saying. To do something like that to a decent person, especially in public, is awful. It's degrading, and embarrassing to the victim, and it's very hard to stand by and do nothing. It's very hard to draw the line between what people deserve, and what you can do to them. You see people being discriminated against, and degraded, in front of their children, and wonder ... how long can we remain passive? Like people on here saying Sean Taylor deserved what happened to him. How does a man asleep with his family ever ask for something like that? How must that make the mother of his baby feel? Or his parents? And we're supposed to sit back quietly, and be better than them? The things they do, and even just the things they hope for, make it too easy to say "Well, I'm still better than them even if I wish them dead".

And, yes, the blatant "pride" of it is scary. It's one thing to be ignorant - to not know any better, but to be fully aware and proud? Not good.
