Miss Puerto Rico: Livin' in the Land of Make-Believe?

Break out the lie detector! San Juan police tests have found no traces of pepper spray in Miss Puerto Rico's belongings. ¡Ay! ¡Ay! ¡Ay!

The Caribbean Island's Forensic Sciences Institute tested Ingrid Rivera's brush and gown, and neither contained traces of pepper spray. According to Reuters, police had been investigating allegations that someone put pepper spray on Rivera's clothes and makeup during a Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant. Beauty queens don't play!

Rivera denies concocting the incident and claims that someone tried to sabotage her during the competition. Police are now looking into whether anyone provided false information to detectives -- which would be a felony. For the record, Rivera hasn't given any statements to the police. Don't spray, sashay!

31. She would be deserving of the Miss Universe crown WITHOUT the publicity. I do not believe she is fabricating what happened. All she has to do is look in the mirror to know she has a shot at winning ANY pageant.The police needs to investigate more before make a statement,is obvios,it could be other substance.

34. She looked pretty sincere to me this morning on the "Today Show" and she was clearly the frontrunner and most beautiful girl at Miss Puerto Rico. Hell, she's already participated in Miss World for goodness sake! No way was she lying and good for her to come out and tell her story. Incidentally, she is totally gorgeous and her English is excellent. She stands a very good chance of becoming the next Miss Universe. And if by chance it IS a lie (which I doubt) then she's the most clever beauty contestant in the history of pageants. She got herself on live US television and garnered sympathy worldwide before ever leaving for Vietnam

38. FIRST OF ALL MISS PUERTO RICO NEVER EVER CLAIMED THAT IT WAS PEPPER SPRAY THAT CAUSED HER ALLERGIC REACTION.

THE PEPPER SPRAY WAS SUGGESTED BY A INVESTIGATOR.

SHE JUST SAID THAT SHE HAD SOME SORT OF ALLERGIC REACTION.

PERIOD.

THEY SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR ANY OTHER KIND OF CONTAMINANT.

44. Something like 5 Miss Universe's have been Miss Puerto Rico's. The competition is intense there and the pressure is huge. Even the Government wants a winner. Not saying she did this, but wondering if others who were backstage or near her belongings felt any affect from this supposed spray or chemical. If so, than maybe something happened. If not, maybe the pressure had something to do with the panic..either by the Security Guard or others and it spread to her.

An Investigation is in order...to find the culprits or discipline those who made the claim.
