35. Apparently, nobody commenting on this entry live in the Bay Area (i.e. CA girl). I was born and raised in Oakland, and quite a few members of my family live or have lived in Hayward. We are neither "ghetto", or "low lifes" as CA girl commented. Just as there are bad areas in several different cities in metropolitan areas, there are good areas as well. Don't be so narrow minded.

42. I'm really sorry to hear about Spice. I hope he gets well soon.... Now in response to a previous post (CA girl). From what I remember, there are some really nice houses in the Hayward and even Oakland hills. Houses that cost well over $500,000. Now show me a "poor person" that can afford that!!!!!!

Don't get upset #39,Kara, CA girl gives us a bad name...probably hasn't worked a day in her life, probably on permanent PMS, the one to feel sorry for is her husband...poor guy has to listen to that airheadedness all the time, she probably speaks airheadesse in her sleep and is so full of Botox she looks like the joker, but it is our consolation that we know how that area is, you see, I am from Dublin and have lived in both hayward and oakland and have been blessed to see some spectacular sunsets from skyline drive. I have lived in the shadow of cal state. So to you ca girl we say.....thhhhhhhhht!!!....good luck and good riddance. Wish you knew more about that area...you judgemental airhead.

45. Oh, not upset... I just tend to feel sorry for narrow minded people. Ignorance is bliss, right Steve? She must be reeeeeal blissful!

Anyway, I lived just off of Skyline! I am lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful place. Too bad people see stories like these and make such general assumptions about places like Hayward and Oakland, and don't realize there is more to these cities than the crime it is associated with.
