I think he's exactly where he wants to be, and if he wasn't, he'd be gone.

Nothing phony about him; he puts his money where his mouth is, and uses the gift of fame to help others in meaningful ways. Compare him to the multitude of Hollywood's wealthy, who can't find anything to do with their fame, but get paid to party, and buy themselves meaningless toys.

He's the anthesis of Brit. He's private, unaffected by wealth, beauty, and fame. Instead of contemplating the next toy in his life, he's looking for the next way to give back.

Before posting that he's a phony, first explain how your own acts of charity have been more meaningful.

66. When did they get married? I think it is great that Pitt is donating so much time to the rebuilding of New Orleans..but why does he make it such a public fiasco. Jolie is the same way with her charity work--seeking publicity and the paparazzi. But, when she has a movie premiere she restricts questions and also complains about the paps taking photos of the children. I don't understand what all the hype is about this couple and their mixed ethnic children and one daughter of their own. There are so many other celebrities who give to charities and donate their time for the less fortunate and do not seek publicity and constant recognition for their efforts. Any one who believes that Brad and Angelina did not have an affair while he was still married to Jennifer Anniston is a fool. Good for Larry King in bringing this up.

You’re right on with your comment. I see it time and time again, ad nauseam . The same old jealous lot telling us that these two will be history tomorrow, next week, next month…blah blah blah. Yet they are still together and have 4 wonderful children. They have something special that most of the negative bloggers here have never had. I’m one of the lucky ones. I do have a wonderful relationship (2nd husband) 2 brilliant kids one biological, the other we were blessed with adopting from a close family member. When you have a great life there is no reason to “be mad” or “hate” others because they are happy. I feel sorry for those that comment and express a feeling of intense hostility. That’s no way to live your life. Let the past go I say because the future is what it’s all about. I hope they stay together forever. And if the don’t? Well it will be sad, but it will be their sadness to deal with not mine.

72. Brad and Jennifer's marriage was already in trouble. Things happen. People get seperated all the time. Brad, is from a Midwest loving family. I know most of his friends.
Long story. But, he is a good man. Don't go see his movies if they are not for you.

But, i am proud of Brad! i feel for any woman who is left behind. Jen and Angie are
beautiful but different woman. Jen will get through this. I am sure she is tired of
hearing this too! Bravo to Brad for trying to make a difference in the world. IMO!

74. As for the fake accent, he can't help picking up some of the southern speech patterns in New Orleans. It happened to me when I moved from Chicago to Florida, and I never wanted a southern drawl. That said, I agree with the anti-Brangelinists. No amount of public service repairs a wrong deed until it is acknowledged and an apology made. When those kids grow up, their legacy will be the stigma of their cheating parents who were too selfish to commit to marriage. Some people may object that the contract of marriage is unnecessary, but they are wrong. Respect for society, culture, and the value of a formal marriage to your children's emotional stability are only a few of the considerations. It all begins with respect, a word that this couple have not demonstrated they understand.
