46. Hey Shannon, I dont refer to myself as African American. I dont get insulting when somebody white calls me "black" instead of that. I dont used the N word (in any situation) nor do I allow anyone, BLACK or WHITE to use it in my presence.

47. Shannon, nice point. Glad to see someone else here sees that too. Some people seem to like putting labels on themselves ( and especially others), which doesn't make sense to me, but.... I silently snicker when my buddy, who's never set foot outside of America, refers to himself as Irish American. He is not anywhere near pure Irish and his family came over during the potato famine. I think just using the word 'American' usually works fine. But then I'm such a mutt concerning my heritage, I really couldn't pin down one particular country if I tried.
