Michael Vick Sentenced to 23 Months

31. 23 Months?? In my OPONION thats too much. People do this all the time, and he gets prison time just so he could be made an example of. Sad. I dont agree with the killing of the dogs...but I dont care about the whole dog fighting issue. Pis Bulls are vicious animals.....and if he wasn't having them fight each other....they would be out attacking and mauling innocent people. He should of just got probation....

34. Nicole. You are pathetic. It has nothing to do with him being black or white. Why must everyone throw that out there. He committed a crime and must pay the consequences whether he is white or black. He can't play football anymore becuase he thought that he was above the law. He had a great thing going for him and blew it becuase he is an idiot...has nothing to do with being black or white. He's just an idiot who thought that he could get away with "murder"...
After he pays his debt to society then maybe he can come back and play football...everyone deserves a second chance.

38. I don't think he got long enough. I sure hope while he's there he learns what it's like to be powerless and in the hands of others. I hope he will be haunted by the cruelty he could have prevented forever. When I look at him on the magazine cover with his dogs it makes me sick.

39. Totally unfair, but he was a man and he started serving his time beforehand. People have got to understand why young Black males are angry at the system, this sentencing of a successful black man (regardless of what YOU think) is what makes black males give up in this society.
While I don't agree with the sentence, I don't understand why Vick felt the need to go into that business. With millions of dollars, why would he want to do a dirty business like that? It was totally "young" and stoopid on his part.
And what will make it even worse is the state of VA is going after him -- now, talk about being UNFAIR -- that's double jeopardy.

40. I dont think the sentence is nearly long enouph, But I do beleive this will be the end of Vick's carreer and reputation. He could of murdered someone and he wouldnt of been perceived as bad as he is now by the public. The dog fighting is bad enouph, but the "assisting" of killing the dogs is quite unacceptable.

43. Michael Vick deserves what he gets but I will say this, those that say he should've gotten more or that he needs to be raped or whatever needs to get a grip! He's getting 2 years in jail (that's more than some Drunk Drivers who kill people with their carelessness or pedophiles who rape and molest children get) and his football career is pretty much over! In fact, I'll say it is over! Not to mention he'll have that stigma for the rest of his life. To me, that's more than enough punishment.

What I find unfair is that there are others doing the same thing (both black AND white) but Vick is getting made an example of because he's a celebrity. Also, as I said, there are people who commit molestation of children that don't get this long in jail! While I am against torturing or killing animals, I am not going to value a dog's life more than I am most humans.

Back to Vick, shed no tears for him but even I'll agree people need to chill out as far as the punishment. Be glad he got jail time at all.

Multiple DUI's (which endanger countless people and children)

Pedophiles go free or spend very little time in incarceration.

Vehicular manslaughter while DUI gets probation or less jail time than Vick.

What Michael Vick and his group did was horrible and wrong and he should be punished. He is being punished. There shouldn't be anyone who is allowed to participate in or be enriched by the torture, maiming and killing of animals.

BUT, what about our fellow humans and children?
