377. HELLO........how about holding accountable the 2 in the stolen car who HAD to have initiated the chase upon stealing the car!! Where is our sense of justice? YOU want to blame the police who are trying to uphold the law and forgive the asses who caused this mess??? Come on people!!! My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims ( those that died) in this tragic accident, not those whose caused it.

378. How can anyone possibly blame this on liberals, LOL? Neocons have the logic of a 2 year old sometimes. I certainly have NOT seen any judges giving lenient sentences to criminals like this. This is a terrible tragedy. Having said that, high speed chases by the police too often result in the deaths or injuries of innocent victims. It just is not worth it to chase down a stolen car and put lives at stake. I don't know if the adrenaline kicks in or what, but too many people can get hurt when cars are speeding like this and it isn't worth the chance to apprehend a car thief. They are going to eventually catch him, anyway.

379. THERE THEY GO AGAIN- BLAMING THE POLICE INSTEAD OF THE GUILTY PARTIES. THEY DON'T WANT THE POLICE TO CHASE THE THIEVES. IF THAT'S THE CASE IF WE BECOME THIEVES WE SHOULD HAVE NO FEAR BECAUSE THE POLICE WON'T CHASE US. GOD HELP US

380. I've known Kris ever since kindergarden. He was one of the nicest people ever and this should not have happened to him. I hope the two men that stole the car really get what they deserve. Because of them, we've all lost a very great person.

382. In response to Mickey (comment 350) -- How can you possibly live with yourself after making such a hurtful comment! Imagine some heartless and empty headed being making that same comment to your family. How you could possibly look at yourself in the mirror is beyond comprehension. Compassion -- you have none. Just remember, what goes around come around. May you get what you deserve.

383. Mickey, you are truly a PIG...why in hell would the families be thinking about all the money they'll get back when they return the Christmas presents they bought for the 2 young men who were killed? Damn, do you have one iota of common decency in your body??? You are truly pathetic...and apparently you have never lost someone you love...yet! It will happen one day, happens to us all, and I hope you remember the stupid insensitive comment you made here today. GROW UP!!!!!

384. Just another sad death caused by police, who had no need to engage in a chase. Idiots!

385. Why take the chance on having people killed over a STUPID CAR. This should not have happened. I don't get it. The cars are insured for the most part. WHY chase after a motor vehical? Why jeopardize the lives of innocent people? Chasing after a CAR does not constitute a chase that will in the long run hurt many people and inflate the ego's of the police. Trust me when I tell you...policemen only think about the "catch" not what is right or wrong" Ask yourself...Are innocent people that happen to be in the area of a police car that wants so desperately to make an arrest...over something so minute...prepared to die? No I don't think so. So many people die because the police chase cars that are not involved in any life threating crimes.Police think that they are the ultimate in crime fighting. My GOD...Why chase after a stolen car if no other crime is involved?Let the damn car go.!!!! Because the police think that their duty is to protect the public and serve....I feel that they are abusing their power of authority in order to make them feel powerful. When I grew up...I respectated the police. Now I have none. I have seen too much. It breaks my heart.

386. Maybe this will shut some of the idiots up from speaking out of turn and talking about BS hypothetical's (for those not in the know: a situation that is so far fetched from happening but sounds good - like an urban legend) More civilians are dying at the hands of police then police dying at the hands of civilians! Furthermore - the people that are being put to death by the police are people that ARE NOT dangerous nor put them in life endangering situations!

387. Rat, check out the official SFPD website. Wikipedia info isn't always reliable or up to date.

388. CJ -- talk about an idiot -- and a pompous (which means "self-important") one at that! How can you possibly talk about men and women who put their lives in harms way day after day to help secure your rights and safety! No doubt you have some words of "idiocracy" when it comes to the military too -- those are the men and women who have sworn to defend this country with their lives so that people like you can freely make complete idiots of themselves. So, tell us CJ, who are you going to call when you need help?

389. To all the stupid ass morons here who are saying "think about it when your car gets stolen. You would want them to chase to"
Actually when it comes to my material things I could care less. I would NOT want the lives of innocent on my mind because my car was stolen. Take the damn car because it can be replaced but those who lose their lives can not. The laws need to change. Oh and to the stupid ass who said 4@ is a perfect time to chase. Read what you said out loud and tell me how stupid you sound. It's NEVER a good time to chase and endanger the lives of anyone. Stupid ass people.

390. Is a stolen car worth the lives of two young innocent people. This is a common trend lately...that police decide that chasing criminals at high speed is WORTH THE LOSS OF HUMAN LIVES!!! Where is the common sense in that? This is a sad state of affairs!!! Chasing vehicles at high speed...especially in highly populated areas is absolutely INAPPROPRIATE and MORE THAN POOR JUDGMENT for those officers doing it. It is great to "get your man" but not at such a high price!!! It is just that human life is not considered valuable anymore since everyone in America sees death after death after death on television, in the movies, and written on the web and newspapers. HUMAN LIFE HAS BEEN DESENSITIZED in the minds of both the public and the officials of the law....at all levels!!! My prayers are with the families of two GOOD kids!!!!
