TMZ broke the news of Ike Turner's death to actor Cordele Taylor last night outside Central nightclub in Hollywood -- but it was another guy who really seemed put out by the news.

5. It's funny how hypocritical and narrow minded some here are. A man has passed away and there are people here who said he deserved it because he was a wife beater? If Tina could forgive him, how come you can't? I'm sure a lot of these people who are passing judgment are victims or know someone who is a victim of domestic abuse which is never okay.
By using this same standard that anyone who had committed domestic abuse, this means that you also believe Martin Luther King JR. deserved to die the way he did because "he had it coming to him because he was a wife beater". He has national holiday and we celebrate all the great things he did for our country, but none if should matter because he was a "wife beater". If you want to chastise a man after he passes, do it fairly and with apply it to all individuals. Think about it.

12. im sure half of you dont even no who ike turner was,yes he was a wife beater but with out ike there would be no tina turner,and he did some bad things,but tana stayed...when she left she did it in style,and ask to keep the last name turner,..........ike is in the rock and roll hall of fame....he was the blues and the blues was him...so before you say anything you need to read about ick and tina,tina is the best and she has nothing to say about him...i hate the things he did,and the things he did to tina....and i wish his family the best......#5 has said it all...i just think you should read up on him before you say anything at all....

14. I was no fan of Ike Turner but you know what? If Tina can forgive and move on, why can't you? If anyone has the right to say "Go To Hell" about Ike its her! She's the one that was abused by Ike, not you.
I can't say I'll miss him but there is two facts that can't be changed: 1. Ike Turner did abuse her and 2. without Ike, there may not have ever been a Tina Turner! Not taking up for him but its fact.
Guess what I am saying is, you can't pick and choose a person's history. I condemn him for being abusive but I give him credit for what he did in the music field and for bringing forth Tina Turner! The ultimate judgement belongs to God.

15. No matter what you made have thought of Ike Turner, he was a true Blues and Rock and Roll Pioneer. To have accomplished what he did as a Black man in that climate of the early 50s and 60s, he had to be an extroadinary man. He was a TRUE MUSICIAN whose contribution to the Music Industry will last forever. And remember, without Ike there would be no Tina.
