Liza Minnelli Collapses in Sweden, Rushed Back Home

Liza MinnelliLiza Minnelli collapsed during a gig in Sweden today, and has quickly been flown back to the States for treatment, according to reports.

Minnelli was singing in a Christmas show in Goteborg, says the AP, when she collapsed while walking offstage. "As she walked down the steps, she passed out," said a rep for the Swedish concert organizers. "She was immediately taken to her hotel, where a doctor was waiting."

The 61-year-old songstress was then flown back to the U.S. No cause for the collapse was immediately given.

40. Liza Minnelli is a living legend. She is literally one of very few who has won every major entertainment award that there is. (Oscar, Golden Globe, Tony, Emmy, Grammy amongst others.) She comes from amazing lineage her father Vincente Minnelli was a much hailed film director and Judy Garland was the queen of the movie musical and the highest paid entertainer in the world at one time. Minnelli has had an amazing career as well despite all her personal trials and issues. Ms Spears and Ms Lohan only hope they will attain the same career sucess.

44. If anyone saw the video of her performance the night before (it was shown on the news this evening), she wasn't looking good at all. Eyes closed, leaning to one side, slurring her words and holding the hand of her back up singer in what seemed to be an attempt to get help to stay upright!

45. I can't sincerely understand all the derisory comments on this great artist, only because she went through a bad moment in Sweden. Liza is one of the greatest artists in the whole world, she is a singer, an actress and a performer of the highest quality, who's been around for almost 50 years on stage, and is one of the more awarded of stars. She should be treated in a respectful and admiring way. Thank you.
