Ike Turner's Last Moments Revealed

TMZ has exclusively learned how the events of Ike Turner's last moments played out.

Ike Turner had just finished eating breakfast last Wednesday morning at his home in San Marcos, Calif. and decided to lay down to rest for a few minutes. His personal assistant was at the house, along with members of the Kings of Rhythm Band. One of the musicians from the band went to wake Ike up, and he was non-responsive. We're told paramedics were called around 11:00 AM and unsuccessfully performed CPR.

The cause of death is not yet known, but according to Turner's manager, Ike had been suffering from emphysema for years and the disease was getting progressively worse.

61. Great post, Skep. I didn't think of that. Would Tina have had the fire to go and do what she did if things hadn't unfolded the way they did? You learn a lot more from failure than you do from success. Merry Christmas to you.

62. Well, there's that 'those were the times' thing again. Tina's courage/gumption regarding her troubles with patriarchal Ike could have been viewed as her being wilful and defiant by her mother, and women were truly supposed to 'stand by their man' through better or worse back then, or they were not 'good' women. It could alternately be that her Mom was simply trying to help bridge the temporary non-speaking gap between her daughter and Ike during fights; she knew Tina was developing a nice career, was well taken care of, and may have thought she was ultimately helping her. Most women were taken care of financially by the men back then. Really. That's probably also why it took her so dang long to leave permanently, and why she finally had to leave with no cash. Men handled the finances, and women accepted it, and even appeared to like it. Except some silently suffering didn't, because they weren't being treated very well.
