Amy Winehouse Arrested -- Allegedly "Perverts Justice"

UPDATE: Amy's been released, we're told, pending "further investigation." She's due back at the police station for more questioning in early March.

Yes yes yes! Singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of "perverting the course of justice" -- the UK's version of interfering with a police investigation.

TMZ has confirmed that the arrest was made "by appointment" in London today.

Last month, Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was arrested for the same thing -- related to the case of an alleged assault on a bartender last June.

Winehouse recently canceled her UK tour, supposedly because she was too upset over the arrest of Mr. Winehouse.

Someone, anyone ... please help!

Her rep confirmed that the singer has been arrested, but explained that this is common practice in the UK. There a person is technically arrested when they are brought in for questioning, but Winehouse has not been charged with anything. This was pre-arranged.

Story developing ...

62. Hm, it's probably a question of being able to limit yourself.
The "average guy" is usually limited by a lack of money, power, status and so on.
But once you're a star those limits no longer seem to exist. The problem is - they still do exist.
Money might no longer be a limit, but what your body and psyche can take and also laws (at least to some degree) still exist and limit you. I am mid thirty now and think, that in my twens I would have simply lacked the experience to deal with a huge amount of money or succes. You have to learn that good friends are rare, that people try to make their fortune at your expense and that most people are jealous and low. That they smile in your face but stab you in the back. And partys, drugs - it's easy to get addicted, it's easy to live the glamerous but lukewarm life, but there are moments in life where you might get depressed, learning that you have no real friends.

I guess most of us sometimes would love to be a star, to get attention, but that's probably just a glorification and has not much common with the truth. Must be hell if you are always observed and working on a career is probably quite tough, so many competitors. We should probably care more for our own life, then the life of other's - that would probably help Amy, Brittney, whoever the most. In the end there is just one important thing in life - and that's to be satisfied. We get suggested, that you need money, power, fame, looks - but, hey - there is (besides the few on top) always someone richer, more powerful, more famous and better looking. If that's the only way you rate your life then you will never be satisfied even if you are quite rich, quite goodlooking and quite successfull. Simply enjoy your life - it's quite short and don't screw it up (for what anyways?).

IMHO there is no way to help Amy as long as she does not want it herself and all that public attention just worsens her situation.

Sorry for any spelling errors, no native speaker here.
