Jessica's mom was a prostitute and drug addict who died of a drug overdose the week of American Idol auditions and Jessica has stated in interviews - when she was sober! - that she despised her mother for a long time because she chose drugs over her kids. I hope this pregnancy story isn't true, but if it is, I hope it's the catalyst for Jessica to finally turn her life around. The odds of someone whose parent is an addict becoming an addict is greater than average, but the cycle can be broken.
