Eddie and Valerie Jump ... Out of Marriage

TMZ has confirmed that rocker Eddie Van Halen and actress/Jenny Craig pitchwoman Valerie Bertinelli are officially single. Why can't this be love?

Sources close to Ed and Val tell TMZ that the divorce was amicable; they still get together with each other (and their new squeezes) -- and they're both devoted to raising their 16-year-old son, Wolfgang.

Bertinelli originally filed in December of 2005. The two had been married since 1981! Their son is currently on tour with dad's band.

It's been a crappy couple of weeks for Eddie -- just 10 days ago, a water main burst near his home, sending thousands of gallons of water into his front yard.

Last March, Eddie checked himself into rehab, delaying the start of the Van Halen tour.

28. I never did understand these really pretty women married to these homely rockers.....Valerie, Heather Locklear, Carmen Electra. I just don't get it.....you're that freakin' pretty and you're interested in a guy that looks like he hasn't bathed in a week. They must be really nice guys .....or something. I think the dating pool must be really small in Hollywood for these women. All I know is if I was as pretty as anyone of them and could date pretty much anyone I chose.....the guy would at least have to look like he showered recently. I just don't get it.

30. I am really surprised they stayed married as long as they did. I am willing to bet it was for the sake of Wolfgang...god what a name to lay on a kid! Wolfgang Van Halen! It is a known fact the eddie Van Halen has a huge substance abuse problem and has for years. He looked somewhat decent in the photos preforming with his son but they are all taken from a distance. The rotten teeth, sickly skin...heavy duty drug and alcohol abuse. Hey I am no prude...I liked Van Halen. I am not that much older than the band...but Eddie looks like crap and as for Valerie, she is still as cute as can be. For those of you who rag on her weight....your day is coming! Happens to just about all of us. But for the sake of Wolfgang, I hope he is smarter than his pop.
