Tossed Out Tori Amos Fan: Diva, Please!

Last week, singer Tori Amos lost it and threw two fans out of her show for talking. Now Monique -- one of the booted ladies -- gives her side of the story. Amos might not stay so famous after this!

Ex-fan Monique posted a blog on her MySpace page addressing the confrontation, saying, "All I was doing was telling my friend who went to the restroom that I couldn't believe she missed her favorite song by Tori ... and Tori had the f**king DIVA audacity to stop her song and tell me to leave just because I was talking about how amazing her live rendition was." Flattery will get you nowhere -- except thrown out!

Monique went on to write, "Guess my First Amendment rights were taken away at the door." Clearly at a Tori Amos concert -- you better sit straight ... and silent!

46. How do y'all know this Monique girl isn't lying?... This is the stupidest lie I have ever heard of...a desperate attempt to save face.

47. by what? -

No, they did not pay for the front row seats. Tori reserves her entire front row of seats and (her bodyguards) gives them away at
the start of her concerts. upgrading those who have seats in the far back. She had every right to say what she did. The girls did not appreciate her kindness.

48. i don't care if these two girls were talking. she's playing a concert! was there ever a rule posted stating "No Talking While Concert In Session"? If not, then she has no right to cuss these girls out and throw them out. That IS diva behavior. Apparently someone needs to remember who buys her albums and gives her all she has now-her fans. And I think a lot of her fans are going to be turned off after watching this video. "Its a privilege to sit in the front row"- kiss my a$$ tori!

49. Ok, first and foremost, most of you people seem to have no clue what type of music Tori Amos does. She does *not* put on a rock concert with huge amps, loud guitars, fireworks, etc. She is a SINGER SONGWRITER, which denotes girl and a piano. People are encouraged to cheer and shout and clap when a song first starts and when it's over. DURING a song, you sit quietly and listen so you can hear the music. Not only is she a great preformer, but she did nothing wrong. I've been to quite a few of her shows over the years, and I think she was totally right for what she did. When people talk during the show, there is usually a resonating "Shut Up" from the rows nearby.

I'm sure these girls were just chatting incessently about nothing like many people do. That's the reason that they hide it on MySpace and their blogs. They want publicity for being an ass. No one can accept blame, and that's one of the biggest problems with the technologic age. People can try to push the blame off of themselves and onto others just because they were being an ass, and are embarrassed by it. They just need to fess up and appologize to Tori, IMHO.

Think about it, don't you get pissed off when people start talking at the movie theater? If they were whispering to each other or talking quietly, TORI WOULD NOT HAVE HEARD. They had to be shouting. Do you shout in the front row of a play? Do you shout in the front row at an orchestra? Do you shout in the front row of your kids singing in the choir? NO. Have some decorum people.

90 year olds do not go to Tori shows. Get a clue people. REAL Tori fans go to LISTEN to her shows. I've been to rock concerts and have screamed before. That's acceptable there. It is NOT acceptable during a Tori show. And at the beginning they tell you to SHUT YOUR CELL PHONES OFF, and to PLEASE NOT TALK DURING THE PERFORMANCE. That's exactly what it is a performance, not a "concert" persay...

50. and why would monique lie on her Myspace page? its not like she gave an interview to a magazine. she wrote it in her own personal blog. who sees that ever except for friends? so i think she's probably telling the truth.

51. Where's the link to "Monique's" blog? I'm reading at other sources that the two "girls" were Porn Stars Jelena Jensen and Aria Giovanni. Google it..

52. Who see's their MySpace blogs? When I used to post blogs on myspace I would check the counter and a whole heck of a lot more people looked and read it than I ever imagined. More than I had in my friends list. Keywords show up on a search. And do you know how many people search for artists like Tori Amos? A ton, so their blogs show up on MySpace searches, then in other searches, and next thing you know a whole hell of a lot of ppl have read their post. I know a TON of ppl with MySpace and Facebook accts that lie on it all the time because they KNOW that people are going to see it. Get a clue.

53. I'm on the fence on this one. On the one hand, I agree w/ "kingac"#52 comments. However, I believe that Amos was just as rude & disrespectful. If she had any type of professionalism, she would have signaled security to throw those girls out. Stopping the show, cursing out those girls, and giving them the finger is just ignorant. As someone elese posted, Amos has been making music for 20 yrs. ( I'm not a fan & listens to her music but, I know this). Shouldn't she have learned some professionlism about this sort of thing by now? What is she - a rapper. lol Rappers do what she did: cursing audience members; throwing them out; and giving them the finger. lol I think both parties should apologize to each otrher

54. First, who is tori amos?? a spawn from a "reality" show or amerikan idul? Second, since when is it a privilege to sit in the front row? You buy a front row ticket you DESERVE to sit in the front row. Third, if all her muzak is like that snippet, I would have walked out a long time ago.

55. Yes, it was rude of the girls to be talking. That is why security is hired...to escort them to the back, or remove them from the venue. Now, what Tori did was just plain self-incriminating. It was classless, trashy, and in poor taste. I've been a fan of hers since 1994, and I no longer will be. She stooped to a level that is expected of a little 10 year old, taking away what was thought to be a respectful musician.

56.

Would you go to your sister's orchestra concert or piano recidal and talk on your cell and chat with your friend loudly the whole time? No, because that would be disrespectful. Same premise here.

If you were a fan of Tori, you would know that her concerts are not like rock or crap or pop concerts full of screaming litte brats and Divas. Her concerts are for those who appreciate her music. If you buy a ticket not knowing this, because you are so ignorant, you deserve to be booted out for acting disrespecfully and YOU re the one who needs to shut the f**k up! It's all about good manners and respect, which have seemed to totally skip a couple generations in America.

57. I went to see a Tori concert about 15 yrs ago. I went to the bathroom and when I came back I was not allowed to re-enter the itty bitty venue until 3 songs later where there was a break. I was sitting somewhere in the middle.
Tori is no Mozart for God's sake. If she wants her concerts to carry such an air then she should earn that type of respect legitamately through a show of music that actaully carries the weight.
She is not deserving of the title Diva.
She should have married Axl Rose.
I've never even bothered to listen to her music after that. I'm sorry to hear she still continues to treat her fans as though they are beneath her.

58. I agree with #52. completely and totally 100% true.

59. From what I saw from the video I think Tori Amos needs to get out of the business. If she can't handle fans screaming or talking then she needs out. The fan base she seems to have is younger people and the music is not of low energy style. If she is doing a so called performance not a concert then she needs to clean her mouth up and her actions up. To me in watching the video her fans are just waiting for her to do this to someone. One can tell by all the cheering going on. The front seat thing if she wants to give front row tickets away fine but then don't expect the fans she gives them to, to be any different acting than they are in the cheap seats. After all her being a so called star/performer is all based on a privilege that her fans give her. For with out the fans she is nothing. Cellphones are a way of life unfortunately and some people will abuse them but still this is a thing she has to deal with when she performs so she needs to get over it. Personally I think they need to outlaw cellphones and go back to the time when they weren't around but it ain't going to happen.

Tori Amos is not a class act, she is a class ass. She is more in the class of a Britney Spears and Paris Hilton class. Which is no talent, no class, ugly and nothing but a wanna be star.
