Brangelina's McChristmas

Hollywood's most successful couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, took their brood for an extra special holiday meal yesterday -- to McDonald's? Merry Happy Meal for all!

The Bourbon Street brood piled into a sweet minivan to grab some boxed lunches for the kiddies -- and a grab bag of McDonald's goodness for mom and pop. We're lovin' it!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith -- just a couple of regular fries.

16. 9. McDonald's was open yesterday in the U.S.? Of course it was - fat ass Americans need their greasy fix.

Canada on the other hand didn't have any store or restaurant open, except for gas stations. Ha!

======================================
Uh, John, yes Canada did. I live in an (obvious) major Canadian city, and popped into two OPEN stores, stuffed up and looking for nasal spray. Many citizens are not Christian and treat Christmas as any other day if they are business owners.
As if my U.S. friends have a corner on the greasy fix. Canada has all of the same fast food joints around every corner, so
gloating doesn't become you as a Canadian. Grab some class. Store availability is a positive thing and is a form of progress. You just sound provincial and judgemental. I like a good whopper like anyone else, in moderation.

17. Actually, John, that kind of gloating doesn't become you as a PERSON, let alone a Canadian. Greasy fixes were never about the food, but about getting out of the kitchen free for a night when both people are working hard. There's nothing wrong with that, and is a perk offered by a civilized society. Abuse of that perk is an entirely different issue. If it's Bush you don't like, quit throwing out the baby with the bathwater by tarring all things American; and just so you know, Canadians are ALSO Americans. Anyone living in North America is an American. They are U.S. Citizens, we are Canadians, but we are both Americans from North America, just as anyone from Central and South America continent is also American. People who are French or German are still both European.

23. Not so! McDonald's are open on Christmas day in different cities,,,one reason, not everyone is a Christian. Jewish people, Muslims, Hindis, have to eat too. So closing every restaurant, store, or movie place is just not good business. Since New Orleans is a multiculture city, they may of been open, but hey, give these people a break. Why can't they go through a drive thru without the world needing to know it. Leave them alone to enjoy their kids, this holiday and some privacy.

25. Watch "Supersize Me" and tell me that the apparent so-called food choices they get at this junk food restaurant are good to feed children. If someone desires heart disease, diabetes, colon and breast cancers, obesity and weak bones, and a number of diseases associated with consuming low quality foods, they should eat at fast food restaurants. With all of the talk Mr. Pitt does about saving the environment, he should consider his food choices. Our food choices have more of an impact on the environment than anything else we do. Studies have concluded that the animal farming industry and the production and consumption of meat contributes more to global warming gasses than all cars, trucks, and airplanes combined. Also, this is a couple that seems concerned about starving children and food shortages. Perhaps they should consider that most food grown on every continent is fed to farm animals, not to humans. There is no food shortage, it is that the types of food being grown are not meant for human consumption. Farm animals consume most of the food grown on the planet. They also take up even more land and resources to raise than the land and resources used to grow fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, which provide better nutrition for humans than meat. On the land used to raise one cow you can grow an abundance of edible plants, from fruits to berries and vegetables. With the land, water, and resources it takes to create one hamburger, 25 people can eat a balanced vegetarian meal. Even the vegetables used to make the fast foods are of low quality, are grown using synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides that damage the environment and that cause human disease. These chemicals are made out of fossil fuels. Farming chemicals make their way into rivers, lakes, and oceans. They also have contributed greatly to the dead zones in the Gulf of Mexico, killing sea life and raising the surface water temperatures, which increases the strength of hurricanes, such as Katrina. Also, the selection of drinks at fast food restaurants contain what a person needs to experience obesity, diabetes, and weak bones. These substances in fast food drinks are corn syrup and chemical food additives. The drinks are served in cups coated with an extract of petroleum, which is known to cause cancer and birth defects, and which is produced by drilling into earth and transporting the crude oil thousands of miles to refineries, which use highly toxic chemicals that end up in the atmosphere. The paper used to create the billions of paper cups used by the worldwide fast food industry comes from trees. Also, the number one reason the rainforests of South and Central American have been destroyed, and continue to be destroyed, is to provide land to raise farm animals and to grow food fed to the farm animals. The trees of the planet filter water, provide oxygen, create good soil, provide homes to wildlife, and absorb global warming gasses. We need to stop cutting down the world's forests to make disposable paper products and to raise farm animals. Want to learn more? Google: PETA, John Robbins Food Revolution, Howard Lyman, Mad Cowboy, David Wolfe, Sunfood, Organic Farming, Food Not Lawns, Farm Animal Reform Movement, Vegetarian Resource Group, Earth First, Natural Resources Defense Council. Certainly the Pitt/Jolie family could afford to make more healthful food choices consisting of organically grown foods from regional family farms, and not the low quality, disease-inducing and environmentally destructive things that are sold at fast food restaurants.
