Scary's Former Hubby is Not So Nice Spice

TMZ has learned that a custody battle has erupted between Mel B and her former husband over their almost 9-year-old daughter, Phoenix, and whether mom can take her on the road. Can't take my baby, Spice!

We're told dancer Jimmy Gulzar refused to alter his visitation schedule with the working mom -- and custodial parent -- Scary Spice aka Melanie Brown, while she's on tour with the Spice Girls. Now TMZ has obtained documents supporting Brown's desire to take Phoenix on the road with her. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider has ordered that little Phoenix can go on the road with her mom as she tours the world, thus denying Gulzar's attempt to block her from traveling. Your mum's your best friend!

Mel, who is represented by powerhouse attorney Goldie Schon, still maintains sole legal and physical custody of Phoenix, and Gulzar will have scheduled visitation over the next few months and on the little girl's birthday.

47. jizzy and Mike you were both children once, I don't think anyone said that about you, Children are the greatest gift in the world. Mel B. should be allowed to take your daughter on tour, It will be a great experience for her to see the many different places in this great world. Just have her write a paper about the places they have visited and her experiences when she returns to school, Not everyone has this opportunity in life. So enjoy it.

48. Sexist judiciary does not give a hoot for father's rights. Never have, never will. Time for men to "just say no to fatherhood". Let 'em go to Kenya, Sri Lanka, China, wherever, and adopt. If a man wanted to go "tour" with his kid and the mom was whining like a banchee, the courts would put an end to that plan quick, fast, and in a hurry. Those that see nothing wrong with this arrangement, obviously do not have children, or have never been the non-custodial parent. In either case, just because the father does not have full physical custody, in no way endorses the mom as the better parent. Read my first sentence again, the SEXIST JUDICIARY strikes again. Men have NEVER gotten a fair shake in custody battles in the last 50 years. The chicks don't mind cashing the support checks, but when it comes to visitation, they act like they OWN the children.

51. I was lucky enough to own a business across from my home so my daughters could be with me, close to home and I could be there when they came off the school bus. They would come to my shop, which was an art gallery, and they had their own area with a t.v. and lots of books, toys and a couch to nap on when they needed it. Otherwise they were with me and coloring or creating projects while I waited on customers. I had employees who also kept them busy when I was waiting on a customer. I feel for any woman that wishes to raise their children and can't afford to. Or for any man that wishes the same also. I have seen a trend for househusbands over the years as well.

54. This is how Mel earns her living. If how HE earns his living is meagrely and under the table without a green card as some on here imply, why would anyone think he should be the one she should stay with? Touring for a few months is not years. It's a chance for the daughter to have an extraordinary experience. There will be the other children and also tutors no doubt. Would the Dad have the 9 year old flying back and forth from around the globe twice a week so he could have his visitation, rather than accepting the few months and the future funds for his ex and daughter so that they would be financially taken care of in their future, as it seems he is not able to provide those necessities? Use some sense. It probably even would mean steady funds for him if she pays him alimony. The judge has used some sense in his decision. This decision is not at all anti-Dad. It's just pro-common sense in this temporary situation.

55. So then why doesn't Dad fly where THEYare twice a week for his 'denied' visitation if he is so keen to see her? He probably can't afford it. If he were friendlier and more reasonable with his wealthy ex, she would probably have flown him in to maintain the visitation rather than have to go to court to take the daughter she has custody of with her. He needs to cozy up/step up and maintain a working platonic friendship with the Mom, if even only for the child's mental well-being.

56. Why does everyone think that A Father can't Take care of their children. There ar a lot of Dads in this world of ours that should be! But because of the "BRAIN WASHING" that has gone on everyone thinks MOMMIE knows best. If the Judges in our so called "Family Court" would grow a set their may not be as many divorces in the world. Sometimes a dispute between 2 people can be worked out together if the so called P.W. judges would WAKE-UP and quit making it DADS against the world !!

Go Melanie! I would want my child to be by my side every second as well. Take her and show her the strong woman that you!

59. Sexist? Does this biofather even make enough coin to gain custody, let alone fly to see her for his visitation?. Being able to take care of both yours and a child's financial needs is a major consideration in granting custody. I doubt it's even about gender here, dude. Nice try.

60. I think it would be an incredible experience for this child to be able to see the world.. Imagine how many children would not have this opportunity.... As for school, I'm sure she will be tutored the whole time and probably get a better education then if she was in public school.... As for you Mike, what a dip you are.... It's not children who mess up the world it's the parents that have them.... And evidently your upbringing was done by parents who don't care about the world... Nuff said
