Celebrity Justice
Brandy in the Clear

BrandyThe L.A. City Attorney has decided not to file charges against Brandy over the fatal car accident she was in last year.

The accident occurred one year ago Sunday near the interchange of the 405 and 101 freeways in Los Angeles. Brandy's car struck the vehicle of Awatef Aboudihaj, who died. Authorities say another car then sideswiped Aboudihaj's car. A well-placed source in the California Highway Patrol, however, tells TMZ Aboudihaj actually struck the car in front of her and then slammed on her brakes before Brandy made contact.

We're told the City Attorney's decision came after considerable conflict within the office. It is highly unusual to wait until the last day to pull the trigger.

16. Everyone should probably get their facts straight before judging her. She hit the dead lady (who was high btw) from behind after the lady crashed into somebody infront of her. There is no way of proving that Brady killed her so yeah no charges will be filed because there is nothing to charge her for. The most the family can hope for is MAYBE they can win a civil suit, I don't want them too but no jail for Brandy and that's all that matters. She was not drunk high or on any pills at the time of the accident, go after Mischa if you really care to put blame on others. Go Brandy:)

19. While celebs do receive lots of perks, it is unfair to ALWAYS assume that they get away with things because of their status. Is it so inconceivable that Brandy was not at fault? If anything, she has had to live with the public perceiving her as being guilty for an entire year. Frankly, she has handled herself well. I hope she can resume her life. She will have to live with the fact that she was involved in a fatal crash for the rest of her life. Even if she didn't cause it, I'm sure it is with her every day. Give her a break.

WOW and your way of thinking is amazing to me. Let me get this straight she could not stop in time and hit another person who had started the chain reaction of accidents that happened that day. My husband was in a 6 car accident and he was the 4th car didnt get charged with anything. Plus if there is nothing to charge her with, then exactly what is she getting away with? Someone anyone answer that for me please. Im not saying celebrity justice does not exist but atleast this time it got something right is all Im saying

24. brandy, was at fault, she r/e the op. that is the law. I hope she is sued in civil court because of the death she should pay big time to that family. If the situation was reversed you better believe she would be suing.

I agreed until the " Brandy is an angel period" part ,but were both entitled to our opinions .I'm sure the family will file a civil suit ,so she should'nt go celebrating just yet ...

27. Celebrity might have to do with it, but if she's not guilty, she's not guilty. There's no point wasting tax payers dollars only to have her acquitted at the end of the trial. Remember, Lil' Kim is a celeb, but she went to jail...just for lying to protect her buddies.

28. For those of you who commenting she got away with murder . . . murder is with intent, I doubt when she headed out that night and was driving without being drunk or on drugs she thought let's see if I can kill someone tonight! It was an accident, lord help you if you ever have something like this happen to you, maybe you will get the justice you are wishing on this person.

30. Thank God !, she has gone through so much hell this past year. Between the woman's family wanting to sue her, being replaced on her show, to just the personal anguish she must have gone through. I've always been a big fan of hers and I just hope she can move on from this tragedy and comtinue her career.
