Celebrity Justice
Brandy in the Clear

BrandyThe L.A. City Attorney has decided not to file charges against Brandy over the fatal car accident she was in last year.

The accident occurred one year ago Sunday near the interchange of the 405 and 101 freeways in Los Angeles. Brandy's car struck the vehicle of Awatef Aboudihaj, who died. Authorities say another car then sideswiped Aboudihaj's car. A well-placed source in the California Highway Patrol, however, tells TMZ Aboudihaj actually struck the car in front of her and then slammed on her brakes before Brandy made contact.

We're told the City Attorney's decision came after considerable conflict within the office. It is highly unusual to wait until the last day to pull the trigger.

33. Hey Barb.... the kids have a dad, so they're not orphans.

I will usually agree that celebrities get off easy, but in this case it seems like Brandy was actually treated fairly.

34. How is Brandy a murderer? Murder is intentional. Plus, wasn't the dead woman chronic'd out at the time?

35. Look right here from Reuters today:

http://www.reuters.com/article/peopleNews/idUSN2848843620071228?pageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=0

It says that police have ruled out alcohol, drugs, no evidence of using a cell phone or was she distracted.

END OF STORY

37. its easy for most people to be upset that brandy is off the hook, but reality is if anyone were in an "accident" I don't think anyone could take fault and go to jail you can't avoid something that happens within seconds. Everyone in their own life has said: "I didn't mean to do it was an accident"? if you have then you are human, and shouldn't hold judgment. No one deserves to be punished not like this, if it were paris I think more people would sympathize more.

40. Jamie,
Why are you being a B when that is a veritable news story? Did you even bother to read it?

Posted at 6:49PM on Dec 28th 2007 by Sue

41. Don't bother Sue. That girl is probably too lazy to even read a newspaper.

42. 10. why do you people insist it is "celebrity justice" or that she got away with murder? If she didn't cause the accident, or the death for that matter, then why should she be punished for it? are you people braindead or what?

Posted at 3:22PM on Dec 28th 2007 by michelle
********************************
Yeah Michelle, I think these people are braindead.
Listen folks. BRANDY DID NOT CAUSE THE ACCIDENT. THE WOMAN WHO DIED CAUSED IT. GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted at 7:13PM on Dec 28th 2007 by Brandy did not cause the accident

43. I can't believe how some people on here can be so ignorant and have not one brain. She didnt get away with anything. She has to live with this accident the rest of her life. We shold be supporting her and helping her thru this tragic accident. They found her not at fault so you people have no right to judge her

44. Good for you, Miss Norwood.

45. When you rear-end someone it is ALWAYS your fault, regardless of why the rear-ending occurred.

Brandy is guilty of causing the accident, period. Even the newest finding still supports that the accident was caused by her, it just excludes distractions.

Therefore, she should serve time for Vehicular Manslaughter. She IS currently being sued in a civil case for wrongful death. She WILL lose that lawsuit.
