Brandy's Lawyer to CHP -- You Did Her Wrong

Brandy and Blair Berk Brandy's high-powered attorney, Blair Berk, released the following statement exclusively to TMZ:

"We are extremely pleased that after a more thorough and extensive investigation by authorities, the Los Angeles City Attorney has determined that Brandy Norwood should not be charged with any crime whatsoever relating to the accident back in 2006."

She continued, "These past 12 months have posed an extraordinary hardship for Brandy and her family, who have been unfairly forced to live under a cloud of suspicion initially caused by the ill-advised and premature press release sent out by the California Highway Patrol accusing Brandy of wrongdoing before the police investigation was even finished. However, Brandy continues to be mindful that she was so fortunate to be uninjured in this accident and there was a life lost that should be remembered."

47. When this story broke last year, no where was it said that Brandy was texting so stop making up rumors and go with the facts. CHP said Brandy has been “fantastically cooperative” with police. Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the crash, and there is no evidence that Brandy was using a cell phone or was otherwise distracted at the time of the crash. She was in her car alone. Brandy was emotionally distraught because she felt she killed someone. Brandy isn't LiLo, Britney, Nicole, or Paris who have all been arrested and sentenced due to DUIs. So how vicious can some people be? It was an accident. They cannot charge her because there was "insufficient evidence" for a jury to find her guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt. Meaning the DA didn't have a case to charge her, nor was their evidence that she did anything but be apart of a pile up. Brandy has had hardship. She has had this problem effect every part of her life, emotionally and financially.

With all the negative commentary the fact still remains, the family had been more obsessed with a payday than to find out what actually happened. 1 month after the accidenter Awatef Aboudihaj's parents filed an illegal $50M civil suit before any investigation of wrongdoing. Awatef Aboudihaj had marjuana in her system, if she caused the accident due to distractions or even under the influence, she is at fault no matter if Brandy hit her. Anyone who had ever been in a pile up would know that. The insurance company will pay out the full bodily injury amount, not from Brandy's insurance, but from the Awatef Aboudihaj insurance. As for the husband and her children, Brandy sent condolences.
