47. Something is very wrong with the CA legal system...why do they let her get away with this over and over and over??? And LiLo spends 84 minutes in jail??? I spent 3 times longer than that in line getting my driver's license renewed. I am glad Nicole R has cleaned up her act...good for her.

48. A deposition is the discovery phase. His side gets first shot at discovery because he is the Plaintiff in the custody battle. In some states, she would get to say where the depo is held because it is her deposition. Mediation is usually mandatory in most states, but is not held until near the trial date. Her side will get to take depositions after his depositions are over. Opposing counsel can apply for sanctions and move for contempt for her failure to appear, however, usually do not, because they can bill for the hours that have been set aside and she is paying most of the legal fees and will probably be forced to pay for these since she was the no show. People are rarely ever thrown in jain for failing to appear for a deposition, but the court can sanction her and hold her in contempt.

Depositions are usually held in a conference room in front of a court reporter and the swearing in only takes a few minutes.

You people are vicious. She has passed all of her drug tests, she is not roaming all over the place when she has these kids and in most states, would not lose custody as long as the children were cared for while she was out and about. I have seen much much worse. It is unbelievable that she has even lost custody. All of this is because she is so in the public eye.

49. You have only a scheduled amount of time in the room before the next people's deposition is ready. Somebody must have been scheduled for 11;45 or 12:00. She isn't the only person in LA to give a deposition that day.

50. 9 to 5 hours were created for factory workers and government workers, not pop-stars. Anne Kiley, one of her attorneys, tried explaining this to the court, with little success. Often talented and highly creative people are out of step with these hours. Why can't our male dominated, witch-hunting society just schedule her afternoon hours for appointments. After all she does seem to be everybodies meal ticket here.

54. When depo's are scheduled they are usually in a conference room of some legal office and they must book the room and the reporter and quite possibly a vidiographer. These people have other clients and places to be. Unlike Britney ay believe, the entire world does not revolve around lil miss thing! She was sart, honestly. She was late but didn't miss the. You can only dodge depo's for so long. They will depose her.
A sart ove on Kaplan's part would have been to overbook the time and not tell her of the extention. With someone like her you have to anticipate the problems that will arise.

56. Isn't it OBVIOUS that Brit's in denial about the inevitable?!!? She knows SHE'S GOING TO LOSE her two kids, but she keeps putting off her scheduled deposition, and keeps putting it off. I don't think it was a coincidence that she happened to show up late to her depo--just more time to stall.

The courts might expect more from mothers but like brits shown, mothers get away with soooo much more than fathers to the point where they can get all visitation removed based solely on what she claims without looking into it or questioning it. Denise richards.
It's virtually impossible for women to lose all custody compared to how easy it is for men. sort of cancels out the whole courts being tougher on mothers. In fact looks like its harder on men.
