K-Fed's Lawyer Headed to Court

TMZ has learned K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, will scurry to court this morning at 8:30 AM and ask the Commissioner to strip Brit of her visitation rights -- at least for now. We're told there may not be much of an argument and it's almost certain the Commish will see Kaplan's point. Attorney Tara Scott from the law firm of Trope and Trope will represent Brit -- awkward, since the firm has asked to withdraw as counsel.

As we reported, Britney is at Cedars-Sinai on a "5150 hold," meaning there's evidence she's a danger to herself or others -- others as in her kids.

Here's what's interesting. We've been reporting for several months now that Britney doesn't have a drug or alcohol problem -- that her instability is mental, not chemical. Well placed sources tell us what happened last night is not rooted in drugs, and that of late, her mental state has deteriorated to the point that what happened at her home was not unexpected.

Stay tuned

16. As a mother of two children myself, I feel so badly for this girl. I feel terrible that with all the money and fame, a person can literally surround themselves with people who tell them what they want and let them do what they wish, whether it is above the law, or just plain crazy. This girl needs a mother and a father for crying out loud - WHERE ON EARTH ARE THEY? She needs to be taken out of that crazy environment and get back to her roots. Who is helping her? She isn't going to be here for long if no one takes the bull by the horns. And if her people can't do it, then the law must. And the kids, I feel so badly for them. They have no idea what is happening to their mom and they will be affected by this for the rest of their lives.

17. TMZ has been "reporting"!!! OMG is that a joke?!?!?!
"Reporters" do not follow a person every minute of everyday just to get the money shot for their website. I imagine TMZ staff were salivating yesterday with happiness that they finally got the money shot of Brit being taken away.
The girl needs medical help not help from TMZ "reporting" on her every move.

20. I think it's clear that we're all witnessing the downward spiral of this girl/woman. It's tragic, especially for her children who will one day, no doubt, read all about this or, better yet, get to see the video clips of their mothers irrational behavior. Is there really no getting through to her that she absolutely has a problem? There needs to be a very clear message to her (and every other non-custodial parent watching) that manipulation of children in adult disagreements will not be tolerated.

Poor little boys.

21. This whole thing is just...sad. All of us have stood by and watched as she's come crashing down, and not that it's not entertaining, but where the hell is her family in all of this? Yea, Dad showed up tonight, but what about her mom? Nobody figured on getting her help prior to this? Whether it's chemical or emotional or mental, she's exhibited some pretty classic signs that she needs it desperately...It's beyond gossip, beyond drama, beyond entertaining....it's officially reached the level of sad.

22. Post partum depression my ass. She is too far out to be suffering from that. Bipolar on the other hand, she prolly does have that! And when they test her urine and her blood, they will see what kinds of illicit drugs are swimming around in her system. She is such a loser.

23. TMZ acts as if being mentall ill and using illicit drugs are ideas exclusive of one another. The fact is that being mentally ill and not under the care of a mental health professional makes it much more likely that she is using drugs in an attempt to self-medicate. It would appear that she is quite ill.

26. I agree with Kat
For a long time now, I have been saying that I think she is suffering from postpartum, People who have never experienced it won't understand, but I have gone through it and I know that it makes you feel and act crazy. Fortunately I had people around me who gave a crap about me and through them, I got help. I am not saying that she isn't doing things to herself to make this worse, but what I am saying is that when you are suffering, you don't see any way out and you certainly do not understand why you feel the way you do. THANK God she didn't hurt the babies through. By the way, what is the story with the baby

28. She's mentally ill, she needs to be put on heavy meds and pshychiatric help ASAP!, as someone that has experienced mental illness in my family I can understand, we can all spit on her and throw stones when she walks by, but she is a human being and believe me...mental illness is not picnic, she suffers more than we all think.

29. Wow. Could Britney be the product of too much "in your face" pap treatment? I mean, knowing she was unstable and still following her and snapping flashes in her face, was/is that a responsible thing to do to her or any other young celebrity? It's like putting the needle in her arm, so to speak. Not to mention if someone is unstable the flashes could be triggering chemicals in the brain. Is a picture really worth the sanity of another human?

Just sayin . . . . .

30. Thank God...it seems K-fed and his lawyer are the only people around to see these children are kept from harm. The judge just keeps letting them go with her, when she blatantly defies the courts all the time. The judge needs to be thrown off the case, he is clearly letting her get away with this stuff because of who she is.
