Studdard Ain't Misbehavin' -- or Sellin' Records!

The "American Idol" graveyard -- aka Broadway -- has just inherited its latest crypt keeper -- Season 2 winner Ruben Studdard. Sorry!
Ruben Studdard and Frenchie Davis
Although abysmal record sales forced the plus-size 29-year-old schvitzing velvet teddybear to be dropped last month by his label, J Records, Ruben isn't performing at local balloon festivals or housing developments just yet. Studdard will hit the road this fall as part of the 30th anniversary of the national tour of Tony-award winning musical "Ain't Misbehavin'." The joint is jumpin'!

Joining Rube will be fellow "Idol" castoff Frenchie Davis, who previously spent over four years on the Great White Way in "Rent." At least for now, these two wannabeens will still be able to pay their rent!

17. Sorry--How the hell is starring on Broadway failure? How? Since when? Most singers and actors would literally -- LITERALLY--kill for just an opportunity to work on Broadway. Jennifer Garner leaped at the chance to star in 'Cyrano de Bergac (sic)'--is SHE a failure? These people were able to use American Idol as a major jumping board to a steady career. Did ANYONE see 'A Chorus Line'? Why would it be THAT competitive if it was the road to failure? You have to remember in the early 20th century the theater community and society as a whole saw the film community as trashy and cheap.

I guess people on the West Coast get off on bashing anything that comes out of New York, but what can you expect from the physically-obsessed, shallow, clueless children of the druggy, hippie Haight-Asbury Baby Boomers?

Don't call Broadway a graveyard. I find it annoying, but I respect it.

18. I am thoroughly disgusted with the tone of this piece. People aspire and work hard to get on Broadway and TMZ is trying to make it sound as if it's some kind of "come down" to be in a Broadway show. TMZ is made up of a group of haters who insult people for the fun of it. Frenchie was in a Broadway show for 4 years and she's a wannabe? Confine use of that term to the hacks who write for TMZ because they can't get a real journalism job.

20. Oh for God sakes, quit adding that link to the balloon festival as a way to make fun of Bucky Covington. EVERY country star does county fairs and such for the first few years out.... Garth Tim Faith... all of them. Just because it seems hokey to you twits in LA doesn't mean it is. Check your info:

Nashville, TN- Bucky Covington is a critic favorite! His self-titled debut CD, which opened at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart in April 2007, has been selected by critics at the Dallas Morning News and the Miami Herald as a favorite country release for 2007.

But I guess mission accomplished you got me to click on your site. So Kudos for that much.

23. Broadway should not be called Idol's graveyard. Broadway is a legitimate career choice for many people, and it's disrespectful to Broadway's many excellent, award-winning performers.

24. Qoute: "9. I think Ruben has one of the best voices to come out of that show. He is very talented, and he is one singer that shouldn't go to waste.

25. What do you mean by saying Ruben and Frenchie are wantabees? They both have amazing voices and can sing their behinds off. The problem is that they are not the blonde, modelesque people that that this country seems to be obsessed with. With the proper record label and management, these two can and will be superstars in venues appropriate for their particular music genres. TMZ, you can go take a hike.
