256. I was talking to a friend earlier who said of Spears’ messy life, “She asked for it.” Would you say the same thing about someone with cancer?

No one in their right mind asks to have bipolar disorder. No one in their right mind asks for their children to be taken away from them. No one in their right mind asks to be called trash by overzealous bloggers.

I am not saying Spears' behavior should be condoned or supported. Of course not. Not only has she apparently put her own life at risk, she’s appeared to have endangered her children’s safety and well-being.

257. Making fun of Spears for a bad song, a poor performance or maybe even a not-so-in-shape body, I can handle. But the venom that's been spewed in the last 24 hours alone is unreal.

Why so much hate? My armchair theory is, it’s jealousy. No one is jealous of her downfall, but surely they may be envious of all she's achieved in her very young life. She wasn’t even an adult when she became one of the world’s biggest pop sensations. And she got very, very rich along the way.

Fast-forward to today. Spears is in a hospital, locked down for her own good. No one knows for sure what exactly went down last night at her house, but I don’t care how famous you are, being strapped into a gurney and thrown into an ambulance as paparazzi and news helicopters hover overheard to catch every minute detail cannot be fun in any way.

While her particular situation may be unique, Spears is not exactly alone. According to the National Institutes of Mental Health, bipolar disorder affects 5.7 million American adults. The median age of onset for the illness is 25. Spears just turned 26 Dec. 1.

259. I think that anyone can just report anything they want to without having proof from the docktors. The media is using Brittany to make money just like her ex. I'm really sick of this whole Brittany bashing, does anyone think that just maybe her being married to this dirt bag who left her with two babys alone and partied all over the place and going thru a public divorce may have something to do with all of this. I think she is suffering from post partum depression and needs help. However, if she got help and would be back to her normal self the media and the paparazi couldnt make any money. The only one that seems to have any sympathy for her is Greta on Fox.

260. The world is watching as Britney Spears dies. An not one of us can help her. I was 25 when I was diagnosed bipolar and now I'm. 38. My sister died with mental illness when she was 34. It took me 4 hospitalizations and a subsequent 25 medication combinations later but I'm still alive and back from the brink. Right now, these next few hours are critical. I've posted on this site very Anti- Britney before but right now, truly I can just pray that she gets the help she needs. She is so sick.

262. # 15 is quite cute...reciting HIPPA when there is no actual fact, just 3rd hand hearsay..keep your class acronyms to yourself, your only impressing family trees, such as Brit's, that don't fork.

As for the loon that is released? I think 2008 will be Brit Brit's break out year........here's yer bullet honey. She's already set her children up for the biggest let down when they are in 8th grade and another student holds up a pic of there mmom stating, "I got this really cool pic of your mom's hooch"

263. Obviously, these people have never dealt with someone with true bipolar disorder. It's very sad, and my brother ended up killing himself because of the lack of love and support. I will be praying for Britney, not because she's a star, but because she needs all the help she can get. I would hope that others would do the same, because what's going on with her is serious on many different levels. Pray for her children, and for her recovery, don't look forward to her suicide...that's just hateful!

265. All evidence points to her most likely being bipolar or manic depressive. Im sure all the alcohol and drugs are not helping her mental and physical health. Im not saying Britney is not a spoiled celebrity going thru some kind of drug withdrawal, but if she is bipolar and is not taking her meds correctly, she will keep having episodes which she is unable to control without the right combo of medication. Stress and drug abuse brings the episodes of manic depression out even more. This girl needs to get lithium into her system and get well. You have to feel sorry for her rather than call her names as if she does have this illness, it is very serious. Having to deal w/ it is hard enough and doing so in the limelight is a nightmare. I really do feel bad for her and hope she gets the help she needs.
