Meltdowns
Brit Probably Bipolar

BritneyTMZ has even more evidence now that this is NOT a case of substance abuse. As we already reported, we're told Brit has all the symptoms of what appears to be some sort of bipolar disorder. This is becoming the universal operating theory from people in both Brit and K-Fed's camps. They are privately hoping the docs properly diagnose her at Cedars.

Also, there are reports swirling about all the people in Brit's home who came to her rescue; who broke the door down, who just lingered. You would think she was having a pre-pre-pre Super Bowl party.

In fact, we know that aside from the monitor, there were a grand total of two others in the house -- aside from Brit and the kids. The two were both hired help.

316. I am Bi-polor and I have my good days and my bad days, Somethimes things in life are turned up side down and there is not much we can do. Being bi-polor is difficult to live with and it hurts not to have love ones whom actually care to help you and when children are involved it is much worse to have a full fast recovery. I know first hand how she feels and I wish her all the luck. Things will go up and down for her, in due time she will recover if she wants the help or if she takes the right meds regurally. I take Lamicital and it works wonders now that I am at my full dose. But I have days where I don't take them and things get ugly.... Good Luck to Brit and Kevin and their children. Joanie

317. i hope that britney gets the medical attention she needs. the divorce, having 2 kids in a year and the death of her beloved aunt was very difficult for her to overcome. it has obviously taken a mental toll on her. i hope that she gets through this for the sake of her little boys.

318. For the people wanting the media to 'back off on Britney' wake up and realize in LA, people that are here WANT to be noticed 24/7
It's why we're called the Entertainment capital of the world....if it's not Britney they're focusing on, it's someone else. TMZ is no different from watching Entertainment tonight, buying US weekly, People mag, In style etc...everything is endorsed by celebrities, it's nothing new?!?...TMZ is not guilty of anything here, cause it was on all the stations, even CNN....if it's news, it's news, simple as that...journalists share all the same stories, so blame the others if you have issues on that...where's the big pic in all of this?
Get a clue!

Britney may or may not be bi-polar, probably having paps withdrawal, needs strobes and cameras flashing 24/7 too, mabye they can install some in her home or when she goes on stage with Dr. Phil, if she ever shows up. That's another show that's entertaining, no different...why so many in denial that this is happening? Realize it and move on, like the rest of us living here! No worry, she'll get the help she needs when SHE wants it.

Cedars Sinai caters to celebrities and I believe the details Homer has mentioned. I've heard tons of negative stories in restaurants, shops, hotels, gas stations, beaches....IT'S soooo super true y'all! Believe that! Don't believe the smokescreen and pity....Thank God for Youtube and the internet!

She's a spoiled brat through and through and expects everyone to bow down to her. Reality will come soon enough to her when the next hottie takes over and the paps focus on them/him/her....
Then Britney can have all the Starbucks, Gas, Marlboros, take pics of murals, drive 100 miles per day going circles in peace....it'll come, just rejoice and believe someone will intervene in this mess. Justin Timberlake's got his own issues. If they were still together he'd help. Just cause you throw out his name doesn't mean he's gonna help? Who are these pseudo-believers? This is reality in LA and realize that! You are put on a pedestal and then the next day or month or year you're done....Done like yesterday's laundry, like dust in the wind...everyone's gotta hustle but not like this!
She needs to stay home or go back home to Louisiana and remember her roots. Reconnect with family, reconnect with God and get some much needed rest.
Let's focus on the good that Brad is doing for New Orleans!

319. Bipolar? When did the paparazzi become psych doctors?? As a bipolar person, trust me, shes just a spoied brat.

320. This can be very difficult on her because she is more prone to stress out and have a difficult time managing her disorder. It's a serious mental illness.

I not only think she is bipolar, but many other celebrities as well, like LA Lohan.

321. bi polar illness is a chemical imbalance! She clearly has a chemical imbalance! To diagnose her with out all the facts is not fair. Perhaps if she would stop adding chemicals to her body she could get a little balance! (detox, add back the good elements and stop adding the bad) And yes as we all know sometimes a litle therapy helps find balance!

322. My prayers go to you Britney...Stay strong and do it for the children...you can do it, the world is not that bad. Positive friends, family and most importantly GOD is what you need.

323. She's not Bipolar. No, really. Borderline Personality Disorder sounds more like it, but since practically nobody knows what it is, the word 'bipolar' gets uttered instead - despite the very high probability that the people saying that she's Bipolar don't even know the first thing about it, really, when it comes down to it. "This (Bipolar as the 'excuse' for her crap) is becoming the universal operating theory from people in both Brit and K-Fed's camps." And I'm as certain that none of those people who are functioning under this theory of theirs is: Bipolar themselves, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a social worker, or therapist. It's an insult to those of us who really are Bipolar!

Oh, for those of you who are interested in the diagnostic criteria for Bipolar, it varies by type (primarily I or II). The relevant information can be found here: http://psychcentral.com/disorders/bipolar/bipolar_symptoms.htm

The criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder is listed here: http://psychcentral.com/disorders/sx10.htm

324. @Marybel//waygo//nosense//kate//Rebecca//CheyFire: It's awesome to see people like you around! Huzzah for people who think - a rare commodity in this day and age.

@ Sheesh: "How easy to say she is bi-polar. If she really had it, she would not like what she does, and make some attempt to get better." That's the best comment I've seen thus far on this topic. You rawk. :) If you ever visit my part o' Texas, hit me up and I'll take you out for coffee or a drink or whatever.

And this . . . this is too good: "Put the blame where it belongs....on the liars who told her she could sing as a little girl."

@ lala: Bipolar Disorder is NOT a form of Schizophrenia. I don't know where you're getting your information, but it's completely wrong. Completely. But what you've written is a fine example of people who don't know what they're talking about spouting off highly erroneous stuff like they're some kind of expert.

@ snowchick //AutoGirl//HomerTheSimpson//undercovermom: HomerTheSimpson's comment (119) hits the nail on the head. What her parents did to her is no excuse for her behavior as an adult. "Britney is still a child herself because she never got to experience the things she should have because of mommie dearest." Yeah? You know what? A lot of people have bad childhoods and don't react as such. They realize they can make other choices and move on, be better than the people who raised them. I know that personal responsibility has gone out the window in this society, pretty much, and when it comes to celebrity brats we excuse such behavior like a bunch of idiots.

325. @ capianne: "Cocaine addiction causes bi-polar disorder!" Right . . . and so does sitting on a toilet seat that a Bipolar person has sat on before you. Watch out! And don't forget your aluminum hat to protect from the alien signals floating in the air.

@Terri: If she does go anywhere, LaHa is a good place to go. Solid program.

@ Yes I have Bipolar//fastcars1971: This also goes for others with Bipolar or who have family or loved ones who suffer from it: Check out this web forum: http://s2.excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=24261. It's an absolutely fabulous online community supporting those with, family of, and people who care for those who have Bipolar Disorder. I'm one of the moderators.

@ Athena: "And if she is bi-polar, that explains references to "narcolepsy"" No, no it doesn't. Medically, they're not even on the same planet, so to speak.

@ veddy interesting: "Most Bi-polars self medicate with alcohol because it is faster than the meds, doesn't affect their creativity or libido." Most people with Bipolar who know they are Bipolar and are being treated won't self-medicate because it messes with the effect of the medication and, more importantly, self-medicating makes symptoms worse. Secondly, it's a common myth that meds affect creativity and libido. Yes, there are some meds that just don't work for some people because they impact their libido or make them feel dulled. These effects are commonly known as *side effects*. When this happens, a good doctor will work with the patient to find a better fit for their psychopharmacological profile.

326.
@Patty: (139. #119) Sorry to be blunt, but it's the truth: You're ignorant, plain and simple. Okay, the truth is that I'm not sorry. Go educate yourself, please, before you make another asinine comment. I don't care if your husband is a doctor or if you're lying through your teeth because a) he's the one with the medical degree - which you're lacking, b) one doesn't absorb the knowledge of their spouse the moment they exchange vows, c) you wouldn't know the ins and outs of anybody's medical issues but your own (and possibly those of any children you may have if they are under age), and d) you apparently are not cognizant of the severity of Bipolar Disorder or you wouldn't spout such amazingly inane tripe. Oh, and 'going on a shopping spree' is NOT a symptom of Bipolar Disorder. Recklessness and lack of impulse control resulting in behavior that can or does cause harm (whether that be physical, sexual, psychological, interpersonal, or financial), which can be anything from attention seeking or escapism to a genuine cry for help, is, however, a symptom.

Also as your husband is not an M.D., but is an osteopath (Osteopathic medicine is a branch of medicine based on the premise that the primary role of the physician is to facilitate the body's inherent ability to heal itself), his kvetching about his allopathic (M.D.) counterparts and their prescription writing habits is, well, typical of an osteopath. Just because his approach is considered more holistic doesn't mean he's not wearing blinders or biased.

@red: The medication she was supposedly on that's primarily used for Narcolepsy is called Provigil. It, like thyroid medication, is a synthetic hormone that your body produces when you're awake. As Narcoleptics are deficient in this (and often other hormones or neurotransmitters), Provigil and its two sister medications are quite helpful. When you get tired on it, as one would typically do so at night if they aren't Narcoleptic, you do fall asleep. It doesn't create a 'buzz' or anything like that.

327. @ getting irritated: There's not a direct relationship between Bipolar Disorder and Substance Abuse Disorder. Just because you have one doesn't mean you have the other, as would also be the case with thyroid issues and Bipolar. Yes, a fairly decent percentage of those who suffer with Bipolar Disorder have comorbid substance abuse issues. However, of those who are substance abusers, there are far more people who don't suffer from Bipolar Disorder than those that do. This is a very common perception, though, so I can understand why you said it. Ultimately, though, it simply isn't true.

328. Britney is mentally ill. I know these because i've been around people with mental illness. She needs to be put on medication. This is not something that disappears overnight. It's going to be a long journey and you have to want to get help. Without wanting help it will be extremely difficult for her to get better. Mental illness is a jouney that does not get cured overnight. It could take years for stability to occur. it's an ongoing battle between being stable and being unstable. I wish her all the best and all the people making fun of her, please stop this and have some compassion. A mentally ill person suffers highs and lows, and the family members and friends equally suffer. America, lets get educated on Mental illness and start having compassion on people that suffer from this illness.
