Meltdowns
Brit Probably Bipolar

BritneyTMZ has even more evidence now that this is NOT a case of substance abuse. As we already reported, we're told Brit has all the symptoms of what appears to be some sort of bipolar disorder. This is becoming the universal operating theory from people in both Brit and K-Fed's camps. They are privately hoping the docs properly diagnose her at Cedars.

Also, there are reports swirling about all the people in Brit's home who came to her rescue; who broke the door down, who just lingered. You would think she was having a pre-pre-pre Super Bowl party.

In fact, we know that aside from the monitor, there were a grand total of two others in the house -- aside from Brit and the kids. The two were both hired help.

331. There are slight differences between Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar. A person who has depression or bipolar disorder typically endures the same mood for weeks. And a person with BPD may experience intense bouts of anger, depression, and anxiety that may last only hours, or at most a day.

These diagnosis's are hard to determine as they kind of overlap each other in the symptoms area. I know someone who went through this with their daughter and it was a major battle for 3 years. She was diagnosed as Bipolar and again had someone else diagnos her as BPD. It took a lot of GOOD counseling and also the help of Out Patient Drug therapy - as a lot of people with these problems can tend to move towards drugs which only increases the problem and the symptoms.
I'm glad to say this young lady is doing well and is becoming a very productive person and still keeps contact with the people who have helped her through this.

It could be that Brit is BPD as it often occurs together with some other psychiatric problem, such as bipolar disorder, substance abuse, depression, or anxiety disorders. But again it is best to let the professionals diagnose her and help her - but it also takes the help of family and friends. If no one is around to help her out she may end up like Anna Nicole or Marilyn Monroe (who is said to have been BPD.)

333. You call her crazy, bi-polar, stinky, dropped out or a drug addict----she is a mother who is broken to pieces. where the F--k is Kevin or Kfed??? He's nothing but a user who used Britney to get recognize by the media. Think about a mother Bear who's ating all crazy and ready to kill just to get her baby from the predator, Britney is the same way like the Bear. To you Britney, you need to go somewhere where you can start all over again and comeback strong. You might have to forget your career for a while to save your sanity for the sake of your children. To kevin, I hope you find some compassion for Britney and be civilized to talk about the welfare of your children. Don't make her feel like she's just some kind of a whore who delivered those poor boys. She is the MOTHER of those boys who she carried for nine months and put her carrer on hold just to have a family that she dreamt of and YOU, Yes YOU, lacked the support my friend. Think about it! If something happens to Britney, YOU are the killer....

336. Frankly, all the "leave Britney alone", "this is K-Fed's fault", and "K-Fed's a saint so leave him alone" people need to shut up. The same goes for every 'expert' who isn't more than an armchair conjecturer (at best), those who thinks they have some kind of license or authority to edify and inculcate because they *know* someone with [[[insert psychological condition here]]] or have sat next to them in church, and people who think they "know better than" anybody else, including those in the medical profession who deal with these things frequently and are trained to do so.

What it boils down to are a few simple things, people: We don't know whats going on with Britney when it comes to her internal thought life and related mental health. We don't know what went on behind closed doors, so taking sides is juvenile because it just turns something that's nobody else's business, really, into a pissing or popularity contest when John or Jane Doe decides they have some inherent, God-given right. Also, it takes two to tango. When people who loved each other find themselves estranged from and embroiled in fighting with their 'ex' there's never a clear line of demarcation as relationships are fifty-fifty. If you're not Bipolar or if you so happen not to be in practice as a psychiatrist, therapist, psychologist, or the like, you really have no idea what the disorder is like, what it 'looks like' from the outside, nor do you have anything experientially relevant. However, even those who are Bipolar, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, or those in related fields know that without doing their own proper evaluation, face-to-face with the subject, and without certain parameters being met that getting a correct diagnosis is rather difficult.

Yes, in one of my previous comments I stated that, in my opinion, Britney is a better candidate for being Borderline than for being Bipolar. I realize that this, at least at first glance, contradicts what I just said in the last few lines of the previous paragraph. Allow me to enlighten you all. I'm Bipolar and was diagnosed over seven years ago with it after having been misdiagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (with a side of unipolar depression) about five years before getting the correct diagnosis. When I was an adolescent, which is when I got the incorrect Borderline diagnosis, it wasn't believed that children or teenagers could "be" Bipolar. Having always been a consummate information junkie I delved into researching and reading all I could about Borderline and to this day I still occasionally pursue data on the topic. I know the nuances and ever-so-subtle striations of difference between Borderline and Bipolar that can make it difficult to distinguish one from the other in part from my personal research and in part from my personal experience with being mis-diagnosed. A decent chunk of my body of knowledge and experience comes from currently holding an advanced degree in psychology and the fact that I'm - sometimes too slowly for my taste! - striving toward my doctorate in the field. The remaining cache of information and experience that I've gathered comes from having worked with others who are Bipolar, both in and outside of a clinical (or research) setting. My outside work is currently primarily focused on the Bipolar World Cafe, located on the 'net at http://s2.excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=24261 for those of you who desire to check it out for whatever reason. The site, on which I am a moderator, is a support forum for those who are Bipolar, their families, and their friends. Since 2003 I have been involved in varying capacities with other, similar sites.

But, despite my rather extensive and intimate knowledge dealing with both Bipolar and Borderline, there's no way I think myself capable of making a definitive, solid diagnosis from the dregs of celebrity gossip, images captured by paparazzi, sheer speculation, unfounded supposition . . . the very things that so many ARE basing their 'diagnosis' of her on. I may not like her, and, in fact, I've always thought she was a talentless hack that was making a name for herself (with the help of her greedy, unscrupulous, wretched mother) based upon perversion by being turned into and object of sexual objectification which required her to take on the projection of a more salacious and explicit version of Nabokov's infamous child-nymphette character, Lolita. However, despite that I thought her inaptitude quite thorough and disliked her catalog for that and that alone, I loathed the fact that she was, at least from my perspective, a sexually exploited child and that the world was supporting - which, when one thinks about it, is a reflection on the depraved state of our world currently - the very people who were, in essence, pimping her out by purchasing her products. It's rather commonly known that events that occurred during one's formative years can have an impact and reach far beyond that particular time frame and often that period is a catalystic hotbed for mental health issues that occur later on in life. From the experiences of having grown up in public and remained in a somewhat high visibility position in early adulthood (although to a much lesser degree than Britney has experienced), it can contribute to seemingly erratic behavior - excessive partying, being with the "wrong crowd", substance abuse, self-injury, acting out, recklessness . . . The list goes on. As I could relate to or see those things as possibly being evident for her, it's not enough for anyone who isn't her psychiatrist or psychologist to make a diagnosis. And when they do so, should she choose to keep it to herself, then it is for them to respect the confidentiality and privacy that comprises the operational and ethical backbone of the practitioner-patient relationship.

'Nuff said.

337. I grew up with a bipolar parent and it was hell as a child. they cannot just sit still... they always have some crazy agenda and tend to manipulate to their advantage. they spend like crazy and get themselves into debt. one minute they will sing your praises and then the next want to disown you for no valid reason. it puts them in this place of acting and then having shame for their actions once they are depressed and lucid about what they commited in their manic state. it becomes this cycle of being manic (you are almost in a dream state in which you are impulsive and unreasonably energized) and then being drepressed (when one comes down from a manic state... usually in the depressed stage they have remourse for the things they did while manic.)

DRUG USE OR ANY OTHER SORT OF ADDICTION ARE A DREAM FOR SOMEONE WHO IS BIPOLAR BECAUSE IT HELPS THEM NOT FACE THEIR MENTAL ILLNESS. ALSO, BIPOLAR INDIVIDUALS ARE THE MOST NOTORIOUS OF ALL PEOPLE WITH PERSONALITY DISORDERS TO NOT SEEK PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT AND HEALTH. it is common for a bipolar individual to freak out if you even suggest they are mentally ill. for the sake of her children, i hope she gets on lithium or another drug. this will help her brain equate itself to a more normal state and also help keep her from using drugs (if she ever chooses to). from all of her actions, i can tell she is SEVERELY BIPOLAR... NO QUESTION.

THE QUESTION NOW IS IF SHE WILL ACTUALLY GET PAST HER SICKNESS AND SEEK HELP. Poor thing. May God give her strength.

338. it's not a clown car: i actually do believe it is very viable that she has a borderline disorder or narcissist personality disorder or bipolar disorder. it is just hard to determine which since we don't witness her episodes first hand my grandmother was borderline and it can be mistaken for bipolar many times.

339. I have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar since 2002. It is not a big deal if you are on your medications and see the doctor every month. I have the same issues that she has. It is all due to a lot of stress. People need to understand the issues in her life. It is not her fault. Look at all the negative in her life. When it all turns it into positive, she will be fine. Leave her alone, she is a strong girl!! That means Kevin too, wouldn't you be a mess if you had to deal with a person like him!!.............

340. Those kids don't deserve a mother like that. My 14 year old acts more mature than that. She's not happy unless she's in the news, WHAT A LOSER.......... She is a total moron. Grow up and take some responsiblity for your actions Britney. Nice example your setting for your kids. Remember what goes around comes around and you will get your payback when your kids get older. Just think, they are going to act just like you......................Money and NO BRAINS.

341. elizabeth - with all due respect, maybe you are not "severely" bi polar. i have known people (parents, best friends, etc) that have a significantly better standard of living due to therapy and medication. to say that therapy and medication do not make a difference is ridiculous. if you are mentally and emotionally hearty enough to control your bipolar cycles with pure behavioral psychology, that is wonderful and a blessing for you and i applaude you - but it is NOT so easy for everyone else.

unfortunately there are people with more severe forms that are a threat to themselves or others unless they are brought into intensive therapy to talk out their issues and possibly put on meds. People who are severely bipolar have the capability to kill themselves or another person. if this is the case, then the patient must be closely examined and treated.

this does not mean they are a "bad" person as they need to be nurtured and there must be compassion for their condition. the paparazzi needs to exercise restraint at this time in the concern and RESPECT for her mental health.

although im pretty damn sure that the paparazzi is the devil's spawn so... yeah... probably won't be much restraint or respect exercised with her case.

343. Brittany Spear appears to have suffered from Postpartum "Psychosis" - quite different than postpartum depression and very rare and dangerous. It is likely she has had a predisposition for bipolar disorder and has clearly now suffered a psychotic breakddown that will likely lead to a deep, clinical depression. Suicide is very likely and she needs much love, understanding and protection if she is to ever find herself again. It is tragic, I have experienced this first hand with my daughter.
