Britney Takes Phil Pill

And guess what else we've confirmed ...

TMZ has learned that Dr. Phil paid a visit to Brit this morning -- and she could return the favor next week by appearing on "The Dr. Phil Show."

The show is taping a special about Britney Spears on Monday, which will air on Wednesday. They requested video of Britney from TMZ on Friday.

When you connect the dots, it's pretty clear they are angling to get Britney on the set on Monday.

Stay tuned ...

406. Brtiney does have a psychological problem, whatever the diagnosis is. Hopefully she will get help, because until she does, she will not have the custody and visitation may be curtailed. I think the problem is (one anyway) is that even though her family may have known of her problem, they could not *force* her to seek treatment, she's over 18-21. However, it may have behooved them to mention it to her lawyer. Now......Kevin F. may have known she had problems, and *may* have been trying to push her closer and closer to the edge of a breakdown. I say *may*. We don't know the kind of phone calls he makes to her. *Or* maybe he *has* tried to help her, and she refuses treatment. We don't know if her family let him know if she has a problem.

I hope she gets the help she needs - medication and therapy. I think if she meets with Dr. Phil..it should be privately, not on TV. The judge (I hope) may order her to get treatment- fingers crossed. Very sad situation.

407. Dr. Phil is a parana. I have bipolar disorder and know that the diagnosis is a hard pill to swallow. It will take her months to accept and comprehend the severity of this disease. After that, it will take months of trial and error medication(s) to get her mental state neutralized. This is not a "lithium" for all cure. Each person's chemistry is unique. For Dr. Phil to put this woman on TV and try to do his 60 minute fix on a life long, mental illness is absurd. He should know that the suicide rate amonth people with this dosorder is 15-20%. Is he trying to put her over the edge to get ratings.

408. I'm very concerned for Brit's health. I felt so relieved that FINALLY she was going to be committed and go thru the mental health process so she can find relief to her demons. Now I'm so saddened! The hospital broke their rules, allowed family and others to reach her instead of going thru their very viable process of helping those who are out of control by giving them time to be appropriately assessed, provided appropriate RXs for whatever condition she fits after their several days' assessment, and then retaining her an additional two weeks to continue assessing, working with her. She is obviously out of control and I never believed it was substances either. The media ought to be SO ASHAMED for their actions....both the print and electronic! You may eventually have poor Brit's blood on your hands. Get and stay away from her! For Dr. Phil, I'm wondering about your need to put her, once again, in a media forum. Work with her in private and once success for her condition, maybe 6-9-12 mos later then publicize it as a informational media piece for others who are dealing with a similar condition, both personally and family/friends, so their situation can be recognized and treated successfully. MEANWHILE, Brit needs to be treated in a PRIVATE manner. Appears she is reacting as is what is common to bipolar, in denial, and it will take some very good MH guidance and care to help her now. I sure wish her family could be kept at bay as well so she can be worked with professionally in a MH treatment ward where she has to confront her demons, accept them, and then find ways to put them at rest. Brit needs all our prayers, as well as Dr. Phil, to help them both make better decisions for her situation. GOD BE WITH YOU, BRIT!

410. Dr. Phil needs to concentrate on something besides getting ratings. His show is beginning to be like Maury Povich or Jerry Springer (not that there's anything wrong with that but they aren't exactly "high class".

411. Do people in America know this hack is NOT A DOCTOR??? He BOUGHT a PhD from a diploma mill! He is an Oprah creation that learned how to talk the talk and yet people look at him like he know wtf he is doing.

It's a said state of affairs, maybe I will become Dr. Alex Brain Sugeon! But, Dr. Phil's "school" was shut down by the authorities or I'd do so.

TMZ, why have you missed this obvious fact about this QUACK media whore??????????????????

416. PHIL IS A LEGEND IN HIS OWN MIND. ONE OF HIS GUESTS NEEDS TO DROP A PECAN PIE ON HIS NOGGIN (get it? Nuts in the pie....). For Phil to have arrived to a patient's room without having a nurse announce him is to me, unethical and unprofessional.

Phil always places himself ahead of many of his guests. I think he must wear "Thank you, Dr. Phil pajamas", each evening so his wife can whisper those words as he falls asleep each evening.

Phil, we're well aware that Britney is decompensating and needs help. She doesn't need to be paraded on your show. This episode was a disgrace.

417. that was one of the priceless things about the appearance of David Letterman on Oprah. Of the ten things he liked about Oprah was that "he never would have heard of that quack Dr. Phil"

418. America, WAKE UP!!!
Dr Phil is not a medical doctor. I can't believe people are saying he took an "oath". Non-physicians (ie, psychologist) do not take oaths like medical physicians. Admittedly, the terminology is confusing as psychology and psychiatry sound somewhat similar. Do you think it is by coincidence that he goes by "Dr Phil" instead of Phil McGraw, PHD". Referring to yourself as "dr bob" is something that psychologists, chiropractors, and the guy at Sears or Target that "prescribes" your eye-glasses prescriptions say. Medical doctors list their name first, and then the medical degree. Take a look as you walk through your town. Chiropractors, psychologists, religious teachers typically use, "dr. smith." Dentists, and physicians typically use, "Bob Smith, MD." Psychologists go to 1/4th the training as Psychiatrists (and NONE of it is rooted in biologic sciences). Psychiatrists go to 4 years of medical school and then 4 to 7 MORE years of intense residency. Psychiatrists then take 5 board exams to practice medicine! Physicians do not refer to themselves as "Dr. Smith" on signs, business cards, or even in the telephone book. I think it's very cute that "dr" phil is "giving his opinion" inside a medical hospital. DON'T BE FOOLED by the difference America!!!

419. Doctor Phil is GREAT and i pray to God he can help her in any way shape or form. He may be the only person on the earth that can and i will pray for the entire family.

420. Bipolar is serious, especially if one goes without meds (lithium, anti-depressants and others). Most manic-depressives end up taking their own lives, if they don't take their medication regularly. The statistics on this are staggering. Unfortunately, my dear brother lost the fight and killed himself at the age of 40. I think that could happen to Britney at this point. It's a horrible disorde and destroys people's lives and everyone around them.
