Spears Daddy to Dr. Phil -- See Ya!

Sources tell TMZ that Brit's dad, Jamie, has officially bailed on Dr. Phil -- he wants nothing to do with the intervention show.

We're told it's still uncertain whether Brit's momma, Lynne, will appear. But the show that created such a buzz over the weekend seems like it's suddenly hurting for guests.

Stay tuned ...

46. Now I may make a few people upset by my comment here, but this is what I wonder:

Maybe Britney is suffering from some form of mental illness (bipolar; schizophrenis; etc), but on what basis are most people
determining this?

Is everyone who shaves their head in our society deemed crazy? If so, there sure are a lot of people walking around without treatment! And who has not suffered some anxiety and depression after a divorce? Who also with kids in a legal custody suit have not overstepped the law and kept their children beyond the parental curfew? Many people have in our society, and yet they are not labeled crazy, just law breakers, for which they have to pay in one legal form or another.

Who also in our society has never yelled, screamed, or just gotten angry at others? MANY people, including political and other official prominent figures.

All I'm saying here, is that I don't condone bad behaviour, but what has britney done differently then most folks, and yet they are not labeled crazy or mentally ill, whereas she is?

I would imagine non stop, constant media coverage of ones life, is enough in itself to piss someone off.....lots of pressure on them. Sure, celebs know this goes with the territory, but there should be laws limiting some access into the lives of celebrities, and even a 50 feet away law when paparazzi risks the health and well being of all others on the streets while they are chasing a celeb down.

I hope and pray Britney gets the counseling she needs, and will cooperate with same. I am also very concerned for the welfare of her two children, and hope they can grow up with love in a 'normal' environment.

Still though, I just think many people, even the media love to jump on the labeling band wagon, without a lot of warrant, because they love to see the crumbling demise of individuals. This is sad and unfortunate.

If we are going to start labeling people before any real diagnostic workup and evaluation, then we would have to fairly label most of society as crazy people, based upon the daily actions of most 'normal' yet strained at times, individuals.

47. I'm glad Jamie Spears isn't going on the air. He probably felt that would just paint Britney into a corner. It's good to hear though that she has someone who is serious about getting her help.

48. why do you think britney isn't turning to anyone..including a therapist....for help? because everyone around her INCLUDING HER PARENTS has used her troubles for their own personal interests. no wonder the girl doesn't trust anyone enough to talk about her problems...which she clearly needs to do.
what kind of parents go on TV to talk about their child's problems?
what kind of parents side with the person who hurt their child?
what kind of parents threaten to take their child's children away?
no matter what their reasoning, as a parent you ALWAYS take your child's side & if they need to see a different way, you GUIDE them, you don't THREATEN them!
i feel so sorry for britney.
all she needs is a hug & someone who really loves her for HER & not for what she can do for them.
her parents are a DISGRACE!

good luck jamielynn...you're gonna need it!

49. Daddy running, just like he has done Britneys entire life. Why should he be bashed on national tv....that goes for her mom also. someone needs to intervene before this girl/woman destroys herself completely.

51. A follow-up to my earlier post. I visited the website of the American Psychological Association... its code of ethics is at http://www.apa.org/ethics/code2002.html#4 (Section 4 is about privacy). It appears to me that good old Dr. Phil definitely breached Ms. Spears' confidentiality...

52. Is there ANYONE out there who isn't trying to exploit this young woman? How is airing her horrific difficulties on national television going to help her? She needs HELP. Not some crackpot idiotic "Dr." with a TV program that no one wants anything to do with pretending to care about her to boost his ratings! How could he be so greedy and cruel? The worst thing in the world for her at this point would be to go on a television program. Someome, who isn't in the entertainment field, who would have genuine compassion and concern for her needs to be called on to help her. Someone WITHOUT AN AGENDA! No wonder she's in the condition she's in.
And her "parents," bailing out of the program - would you expect anything else from people who bailed out on her life? This woman has no "parents." They're vultures who only want to make sure that they don't lose their meal ticket! Losers!

53. Well, at least her dad has some sense -- which is much more than you can say for her mom.
Whatta bunch of nut cases. But hey -- they'll do whatever they have to to get noticed... celebrity or notoriety pays big bucks, and momma and her babies know that!

54. Phil McGraw blatantly violated Spears' doctor / patient rights by disclosing to anyone, be it media or otherwise, he met with her, or communicated with her family - it is no one's business. McGraw's "concern" for her is insincere. It's clear his motive was to convince her parents and Britney to appear on his show. She should sue the hell out of him. You can bet he would spend his last dollar suing if this situation was reversed. McGraw's actions were and are despicable. Bella

57. What A shame...Is Dr. Phil even a real DR. I take great offense at the fact that he is using Britney's illness to capitalize on it.She is obviously a very sick young woman And it all hsa become a total spectacle.SHAME on all that have turn away from her @ this very desperate episode in her life.Educate yourselves people (incliding you so called DR.Phill) Mental illness its not a joke nor a choice.Papa and Mama (Help your poor daughter) dont walk away now.I personally donr think anybody really cares about Britney.Hey!FOOD FOR THOUGHT)! lets get Justin to talk to her ...I dont think she really ever got over him.How about (Justin)????

58. How sad is it when a T.V. talk-show host makes it ALL about HIM? Is it sweeps week? What Phil MacGraw pulled at Brittney's hospital room was unconscionable. Wonder if he advised Mrs. Speer's?? You know, about the ONE MILLION DOLLARS she sold her 16 year old daughter out for? I feel sure she had the money put in a trust fund for her unborn grandchild! Jamie Lynne's unplanned pregnancy might have put Britt over what she could handle. Bless her, bet she was thinking oh my goodness another person for her to support finically. I would have bet anything she wasn't a user of drugs or alcohol. It is clear she needs the right kind of medication. Secondly, no more leaches, Dr.(?)

59. Just as I thought LYNN made the call Brit did not want her mom there(she told her dad) that tells you she does not trust her mom and now I think it's safe to say why she told her mom to get lost in the first place.

60. There is such a thing as HIPA--the privacy act that says personal patient information can not be released to outside parties not directly related to a patients medical care--How is Dr. Phil, a purported dr. going to defend himself against that?
