These days, you ain't nobody in Hollywood without some fake hair (and a DUI), but this weekend, wannabe It girls Kristin Cavallari and Amanda Bynes took the synthetic mane trend to new lengths! If you can't grow it -- sew it!

Kristin debuted her do-it-yourself stringy polyester mermaid 'do at her birthday party in Vegas, while Amanda kept it fishy with her octopussy tentacle extensions at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Nothing like eight yards of Dynel to make a girl feel pretty!

Kris and Mandy are proof that anyone can be a star -- if you beweave in yourself!

34. Amanda Bynes show when she was young was cute but as she ages she hasnt really grown into a good actress. I didnt think she was very good in Hairspray. I am so happy that she hasnt pulled deviated septum and had her nose done - good for her. Then again she is young and most Drs say wait so maybe she is waiting? I hope not. And who is Kristin Cavalerri? She used to be on Laguna Beach but that was yrs ago?

37. Haha I'm laughing at all these comments calling Kristin a "nobody" and saying all she's done is "fake TV". What the hell do you think Lauren Conrad is doing?? Exactly the same. Yeah, she might have a clothing line out now, but there's no way in HELL she would if it wasn't for Laguna Beach and The Hills.


I think they are both gorgeous, and I can't believe TMZ actually put something up about them wearing extensions. MUST be BORED!

39. They're both cute but they look like half the girls at my daughter's high school. I don't like the fake hair look on Kristin. Amanda's looks more natural to me.
